CHAPTER 20:

15 minutes later, I pulled into my driveway. I grabbed my bag, food, and coat and ran for the door. It was starting to rain and I was starting to cry. I reached the door and fumbled for my keys, vision blurred by tears. I finally got the door open and tumbled inside. I dropped my things on the couch, put my food in the fridge, and locked the door back. I climbed up the stairs to my room and sat down on my window seat. That's when I heard the jeep. I looked out my window to find Zander's jeep roaring up the driveway.

He parked his car and I watched from behind the curtains as he ran through the rain to the porch. His first knock scared me. He pounded on the door so hard it echoed through the house. "AVA!" he shouted. "I know you're listening." he said so lowly, I could barely hear him through my open window. "Ava I'm so sorry, baby. Trevor took me aside and explained the situation." he continued. He waited in front of the door for a minute and then turned and stepped off the porch. I turned from the window. It was over. He was leaving, giving up.

I closed my window and headed back to my bed, but then I caught a glimpse of something that made me stop. Zander was standing in the middle of my yard, looking right at my window. I waited for an hour but he never moved, even though the rain was still beating down on him. I finally went downstairs and opened the front door. I watched without a word as he walked up the porch and through the door. I made a motion for him to follow me and led him upstairs, through my room, to my bathroom. He sat on the edge of the tub as I handed him a towel.

He broke the silence. "I never should have doubted you." he said quietly. "Finally figured that out, huh?" I replied, my voice soft but hard. "I'm so sorry Ava. I know you would never do anything." he whispered. I opened my mouth to respond but he stood up and cut me off. He starting walking over to me as he talked. "And the thought of you with someone else hurt me and because of that I acted out because.... Ava, I know that we haven't known each other for years, or that you might not feel the same way..." he continued, his voice growing stonger. "Ava Rosaline Williams, I love you."

My heart stopped at his words. He walked up to me and I felt his hands touch either side of my face as I looked into his deep blue eyes. He leaned down toward me but stopped an inch before my lips. "I love you Ava." he repeated, softly. I kissed him. I opened my mouth and his tounge swept in. He picked me up and sat me on the counter, his hands trailing down my back to land at the bottom of my spine. I felt his warm arms cage me in as my hands slid down his broad chest, then back up again to tangle in wet hair. He deepend the kiss and a small sound escaped my throat. The kiss grew hungrier and he groaned when I drug my fingers down his back. He kissed me harder and I answered him with fierce passion.

We finally broke apart, both breathing heavily. He started to step back, but I pulled him back by his shirt. I drew his head down and whispered in his ear. "I love you, Zander Daniel Eriksson." I told him.

He stepped back as I hopped off the counter, and I looked up to see him smiling from ear to ear.
