Innocent Death.

Chapter 1:Rising

The rising sun rose,beaming it's light on the abandoned city.Zoe was the first to wake,as she ruffled her messy hair and looked to her side,seeing Sierra. The darkness of the alley started to fade,as small beams of light peeked through. Sierra was still asleep,laying against the cold,dark alley wall. Meanwhile,Zoe was running her comb through her short,black hair. The royal purple streaks of her bangs glistened underneath the beams of sunlight.

"Wha...," Sierra mumbled,"Where are we?"

Zoe gave Sierra a depressed glare as she replied,"We're still on Earth.Our hearts still beat.Come on,we need food and to find another location."

Sierra let out a sigh,sitting up and ruffling her choppy,black bobbed hair. It was too short to comb,so after she ruffled it the hair fell right into place.She stood up,throwing her quiver filled with arrows around her back,now clutching her bow. Zoe grabbed her shotgun, along with her blades neatly packed inside her belt. The two girls walked out of the alley,staring at the foggy,silent,dead lands ahead of them.

As they walked,Zoe looked at her feet the whole time.She was an over thinker, and thought about those she left behind. Sierra was talking to her,but it all went to mute as Zoe went into deep thought. A voice popped into her head,the voice taunting her of the past.

"You left them," the voice said,"You left everyone behind.All for your friend? You even left your lover die. Shall I say his name...Hm..Mason? Yes,don't you remember? Holding his head and watching his last breath? Don't you-"

"Zoe!" Sierra shouted,making Zoe snap out of her thought," Damn,what are you thinking so much about?"

Zoe shook her head."Anyways," She said,"What did you say?"

Sierra gave Zoe a suspicious grin, then continuing her words."I said," She paused,"I don't know where we are going to get more food,it took all we had to get the last bunch we had. We need another survivor to walk with us."

Zoe thought for a moment,wondering if she could bring herself to trust another person,or even more people. She then nodded to Sierra,agreeing. They then started jogging,eager to find the person they'll be walking beside.

As they walked,they were almost giving up hope. They walked for hours,no life even heard of. Suddenly,they saw movement beneath the fog.
