========================

Light creeped through the alleyway.Sierra had fallen asleep, forgetting to switch shifts. The crew was fast asleep.Hisses were heard from the distance. The tearing of flesh, the growls and shrieks of the demon zombie creatures.Abbey started to wake up,hearing the horrifying noises in the distance.Suddenly, she sprung up and jolted. She listened to them. She had forgotten that these creatures existed, being curious about the noises they made.It eventually came to her that these zombies were far from walkers. She shook Max beside her, springing him up,prepared to fight.Abbey then shook Zoe to her side,Zoe jolting up as Sierra followed them by pushing her tired body up.

"What do we do?"Abbey asked, whispering,"Fight them?"

"No," Sierra said,"That was too tiring. We'd be dead by dark."

"We can't just walk around here,"Zoe whispered,"They'll kill us."

"Do we stay here?"Max asked,"It's probably our only option until we can fight."

"Yeah," Zoe said,"Only problem is if they catch us,we can't run off. We're trapped."

The group sat in silence, staring at the small crack of light from the alleyway leading to the bloody streets. All they could do was wait until afternoon. Then they could fight.

. . .

Hours passed. It must've been past noon. The crew hadn't talked. They only stared at the bloody, cold, hard ground. The shrieks and growls roared, bringing a pain to the crews' stomachs. These weren't easy walkers. They're not even sure if they're walkers. They stood up,stretching out and preparing for their fight.

Footsteps.Well,limps.They came,and came closer.The.....creatures.

Their they stood in the crack of the only exit to the alley.Zoe swung another arrow from her quiver bag, loading it and aiming it at the creatures. She barely took a breath, her tense body fixed on the creatures ahead.Max snarled his chainsaw,as it roared.Sierra loaded the shotgun with bullets. She held it up to her cheek, fixing her eyes on the demon zombies.

As they attempted to move closer,Zoe shot her bow.The arrow flew into a creatures throat, making them choke on their own blood as it spurt. As it collapsed,a huge puddle of its blood trickled like a waterfall. It bordered Zoe's feet,as the blood did not phase her.Instead, she smirked. She swung another arrow and loaded it,fixing her eyes on the creatures. She released her fingers off of the arrow, this one flying and piercing another zombie, but in it's eye.Blood gushed out, drops spurting onto Zoe's and Sierra's cheek. It fell to the ground, making it look as if it was crying blood.Zoe and Sierra looked to each other, smirking.

Max casually walked closer to the zombies. He raised his roaring chainsaw, and dropped it onto the creature's head. The zombie split easily, like cutting cheese.Blood attacked Max,making his shirt a darker red along with his face and hair.As the creature fell to the ground, one half of its body twitched for a couple minutes before going limp like the other side.Max kept slicing the creatures, making his slices with ease.

Abbey stood in the back, frozen. The gorey scene made her feel sick.Just as she was about to calm down, a zombie head, bloody and sliced, rolled towards her.It landed at her feet, looking at her.She shrieked, kicking the head away from her.Suddenly,a zombie had crept to the back, pinning Abbey to the wall. She shrieked, begging for help.Everybody heard her screams, giving a quick glance towards her before having to fix their attention on the zombies in front.Soon, another zombie was beside Abbey, and another and another. They hissed and growled, intimidating her.The front zombies had been killed off,as Zoe and Sierra ran towards the zombies. They snapped two of their necks, now trying to get the two away from her.Their strength was fairly great. Then,it happened.

The zombie clawed at Abbey's flesh.

Abbey shrieked,as the zombie skinned her flesh with its own nails. It bit her jugular vein,as blood spurted out.The zombies ripped her apart,as now she hadn't screamed. She almost looked like one of them. Her skin was shredded, her body bled so much it was like a river. Her head lay tilted, the blood from her neck still squirting. The zombies picked at her body, chewing certain parts and clawing at more flesh.

"Abbey!" Zoe and Sierra shrieked.

Max turned around for a quick second, almost puking at the scene of Abbey's body.He then looked to Sierra and Zoe, shrieking.Zoe ran up to the zombie that ended her life, and began choking it.The zombie gagged, attempting to reach her head.Zoe screamed with rage, ripping it's head off.The zombie exploded with blood, like a volcano,as Zoe's face was now like war painted, but red.She held the zombie head, throwing it to the alley wall and shrieking Abbey's name.Sierra pulled Zoe's arm,as she pulled her out of the alley along with Max following them. The last thing they saw was Abbey's body, bloody and skinned, being chewed to the bone.

. . .

They ran deeper into the dark city.Only silence was to be heard.Blood from the creatures stained Zoe's hands entirely, and dripped down Sierra's arms and cheek.Max's shirt hadn't seen the color white in days. His face was painted with red.

Zoe paced back and forth frustrated and hating herself.Max walked up to her and grabbed her shoulder, spinning her around.

"Stop,alright?!" Max said,"It wasn't your fault!None of it was!"

"I could've helped her!" Zoe shrieked,"I should've just pushed her out of the way and fought them off myself!"

"Don't you dare talk like that! You're so easily offering your life on the line, even when you don't have to! It seems as if you want to die!"

"Zoe," Sierra said, staying calm as her voice cracks,"It was my fault as much as it was yours."

"What?!" Max said,"None of it was any of your faults! We couldn't stop them, and Abbey was pinned to the ground so she couldn't-"

"First Alec, now Abbey..",Zoe said, her voice calming down but cracking,"How am I supposed to deal with one of you?! I can't do it.I just can't.We've lost two good friends now.I just can't lose-"

"And you won't," Sierra said,"I promise,I'm not going anywhere after what you did for me.You left behind family, other friends, and even Mas-"

"Don't," Zoe said, her voice raising,"Don't you dare say his name."

Sierra obeyed, refusing to say his name.Max's eyebrow curled in suspiciousness.Zoe walked over to a wall of a building, slamming her fists onto it in anger. Her body shook with rage.Max walked up to her again, resting his hand on her shoulder and bending down slightly, trying to see her face.

"Zoe.." Max said,calmly.

Zoe just turned her head, looking at him.The look on her face punched his gut and stabbed him.Her narrowed, teary eyes, and her weak stance. He pulled her hands off of the wall, pulling her in close. She buried her face into his blood stained shirt,as Sierra walked up and joined the hug. They all hugged in each other tight. You could tell all of them needed some form of hope, reassurance even.

The zombies were heard in the distance.Down on the other end,was a new kind of forest.A bright colored forest, with trees spread out for running room. The group ran in that direction,as the zombies horrifying and deadly growls faded.
