I picked up my clothes and changed. Before my fingers brushed Vicente's neck. I wanted to try something. The question was if the force inside me could do it. From Vicente's tales, a rare amount of vampires could teleport with great cost; they might lose a limb or two. Some went insane and took suicide. That's how high the risk is.

Not that it is a problem, I got this.

"Vicente, do you trust me?" His pulse would've quickened if he been a human but his only tell where tensed shoulders and pressed lips. Vicente's eyes met my own. We had to get to our friends rapidly. "I want to try out something. You familiar with teleporting?" I asked.

"Yes, I am," he answered. He frowned. Vicente did not like where my thoughts were going.

I had an idea how to do it. First I would make us into nothing and then I would materialize us where(for now) I didn't know, but the friends should be there.

"That doesn't sound very assuring nor secure, Ethan," Vicente raised his eyebrow and put his hand on my shoulder. "Why don't we go the old way? No harm in that, I remind you," Vicente said. His eyes twinkled in the light. He grabbed hold of my face and forced my eyes to lock into his.

"But I want to test it out," I groaned in protest. His hands can stay. I like'em. Soft as a bears. Not the deadly kind. Nope. They are scary as hell. Now-

"Shush, Newborn. We will get there in due time," Vicente smirked. The smile that told a thousand lies yet you will believe every single one of them. "I have a question for you, who do you think you are?"

I rolled my eyes. Yep. Bet on Vicente to nail the hundred dollar guess. He would win the whole game and let the losers like us clean up his mess. Hurray. Time of my life. If you don't see the reference, I am disappointed. But then again, is just me in my head babbling nonsense. "I am Ethan, eighteen years old, straight until twenty-four hours ago. My favorite color is pink, Markipiler's hair ya know?"

"You are a dork," Vicente hummed. "It's fine, attempt to teleport us, I am curious whatever we make it or not."

I nodded. Slowly I touched his temple and closed my eyes. The surge of power song in my veins. The whole world held its breath until I manage to locate their unknown location. "You ready?" I warned Vicente. "I bet five bucks it going to hurt."

Before I could hear Vicente's answer we teleported in front of my friend. Mike was shocked. Juna shrugged and Wanda kept back a laugh in her throat. A smile conquered my face. I turned towards Wanda. "You totally saw that coming, didn't you?" I said to her.

She nodded. Her black hair covered parts of her beautiful face. "I have known for a long time. It's a good asset you can teleport now, it will be useful later. The werewolves are one day march away now. Their rules...are different than ours." Mike pushed her playfully in the shoulder before he took over where she left off.

"Yeah, their disagreements is back from the native centuries. It's many stories but not even Juna knows where it truly began. The pack heading over way is named the Solis. Pretty awesome name, right? They already have information that the old vampire council is gone in this state. And must you to prison or something like that according to Wanda. That's not the worst, though." Mike ruffled his hair and sighed. He continued. "They probably see all of us as culprits and wants us accountable for the murders we obviously didn't do. Apart from the vampire massacre, slightly creepy."

"What? And you want me to make a deal with those animals?" I facepalmed. Not blood calmed me down at this point. If it had, I would have punished those werewolves straight in the face.

"Yes," Juna said. "You are a former human, they will listen to you."

"Keyword, listen," I snapped, losing my cool. Vicente put his hand on my shoulder, I gave him a curious glance. "Firstly, I got no idea how their system works and the way to make them understand our view. Secondly, I am just a dude. No famous bloodline or anything."

"That's because you are going to be the first," Wanda said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"The first of what?" I said. She has kept stuff from me again. That's rude. Why couldn't she tell me already? Oh naw since I probably would get an F and don't pass the deal they wanted. She had a point, low-key suggesting they will kill me. She is right. I am a failure with a big F. It's written all over my face.

"You are wrong, why can't you see that?" Vicente's hand caught me by surprise. I gulped nervously. Hundred present forgot the guy can read thoughts when they are emotional enough. And I am a cry baby. Jesus. What a bad luck, eh?

We did have the s thingy. But that doesn't count.

"Whatever man," I shook my head. "What do you mean Wanda?"

"She can't explain it yet," Juna informed us both. "Some things are better unsaid and I bet she has her reasons. You need to focus on saving everyone here and don't think only about yourself. That's not how it works in the vampire world of power. We all want something but we follow just a man or woman of promise. You have that potential. Show me I am not wrong."

I bit my underlip. Worry etched into my bones. She must be joking. Me? A leader?. I am a zero. A nobody. You are somebody a voice in the back of my mind said, of course, it was Mike. My bro. Not my real brother, I am just me.

"I will try," I said. "For now."
