Sam's POV
Dean and I look at Sariel, watching as the angel stands defensively and clearly under pressure. As we all realize why the angel is here, our heads slowly turn to watch Elizabeth. She hesitantly forms an elegant symbol on the wall, her writing glowing a bright white color for a moment then disappearing into the faded cream backdrop of the painted walls.
Watching her work, observing as she uses an invisible sort of magic to create a force field around us, I realize something. Something I can hardly make sense of: Angels don't make sigils like that.
"She's not an angel."
She's something more.
Elizabeth's arms fall to her sides and her frame seems to lose its strength. Her shoulders droop and she leans her head forward, nearly against the wall. The weight of my words almost seems too much for her.
"Place the wardings!" Sariel yells at Elizabeth upon seeing her quitting at her work. She doesn't look up.
Sariel finally loses it. The angel's temper is short, and as he draws a silver blade from inside of his jacket, the room seems to freeze.
It takes only two steps for Sariel to reach the small girl, and only a second more for the shaft of his angel blade to find her neck.
"Place the wardings!"
"Hey!" I yell just as Dean throws his hands forward, grabbing the back of Sariel's coat and pulling him away. I watch as Dean is thrown to the ground and before I know it, I've joined him there. I look up just in time to see Sariel's hand fly out towards Bobby, and from behind the table, I hear a crash.
"Stupid mortals!" Sariel yells out just as another angel appears behind him.
Caim stands tall with his hands behind his back. "Have the protection spells been placed?" He asks in his typical monotone voice, his face never breaking its pensive facade. Not even when he notices the tension in the room does he fall out of character.
There is a moment where a glare from Sariel rests heavily in the room, landing on Bobby, Dean, and I accordingly. But he finally turns to Caim with a sneer that only he could perfect, and answers his comrade.
"It's-"
He immediately stops once Elizabeth grabs the attention of every one in the room. She had taken in a sudden and abrupt breath, and standing alone in the corner, she soon has all five pairs of eyes on her. Her own eyes are those of a culprit, one who had just got caught- wide and panicked.
Her hand is held out in front of her in plain sight for all of us to see. We're all confused at her gasp, that is until a drop of red falls from her hand onto the white flooring. It only takes a split second for realization to hit both the angels and us. Another red drop falls to the ground before she does anything.
"Dimitte," she states strongly in Latin.
She throws her hand against the clean wall, leaving a bloody hand print behind as a pristine outline of an angel-expelling sigil suddenly appears around it. Immediately, Caim and Sariel yell out in pain, and disappear in a bright flash of blue light.
Elizabeth, however, stays just where she is, leaning against the wall and holding her hand.
The sigil. It didn't work on her. She should have been expelled with the other two angels.
