What is wrong with me?

That what was going through toms mind all day.

It started in the morning when he was waiting for Adelaide in the common room. She walked over to him, wearing her usual uniform and her hair as it always is, in elegant curls. But the first thing that came to his mind was, she looks beautiful.

Again in transfigurations he couldn't focus, all he could do what stay at the back of her head. Or watch her body move in a cat like way when she stretched. Then he almost lost all the control he had when a purr like sound came out her mouth after she had finished stretching.

Then now in defence against the darks arts, his favourite subject. He couldn't even concentrate in that. Tom kept on watching her, biting her lip as she concentrated trying to figure out what to do.

"Tom!" She whisper shouted, snapping my her figures in front of his face.
"What?" He hissed and swatted away her hand.

"You were staring." She said slowly. "Anyway, I need the answer for this." She brushed it off and leaned over to look at his work.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when she saw his parchment blank.
"Huh, that's weird." Adelaide murmured to herself.  "Are you okay?" She asked him. "You haven't been concentrating all day." She pointed out.

"I know. Thanks to a certain someone." He growled and looked down at his parchment, trying to write the answers down.
He inwardly winced when he realised what he had just said. She wouldn't know it was her fault he was distracted.
"What?" She asked, confused. "Me?" She questioned. "What have I done?"

"Nothing." He tried to brush it off.
"Seriously? How am I distracting you?" She asked confused.
"Leave it." He said through gritted teeth.

Adelaide was in a teasing mood today and she thought this was a perfect opportunity to wind Tom up.

She leaned in closer to him and smirked.
She booped him on the nose with her quill making him snatch it off her and fling it on the desk.

"Answer me, Tom." She whispered whilst grinning.

Tom couldn't help noticing how attractive she looked when she smirked. Or how sexy her voice sounded when she whispered in his ear and her hot breath tickled his skin.

Toms swallowed and composed himself.
"If you don't get away from me, I will hex you." Tom threatened her.

Adelaide just laughed a little and feigned being frightened.

"But in all seriousness, what is the matter with you?" She asked him.

He stared at her for a moment. Tom knew that Adelaide truly cared for him, she proved that the second she said they were friends. But this stupid feeling in his tar black soul could ruin the friendship they had built. The only thing other than power that Tom actually cared about.

Tom took in her image there and then. She was utterly exquisite in every way possible. The way her brown doe eyes held kindness and were shielded by her long fluttering eyelashes. Adelaide didn't know it but she could get anything her heart desires with a simple wink.
Her hair. Those long dark curls that she would tuck behind her ears when she felt insecure. And her full lips, slightly parted as she patiently waited for him to answer her question. How he longed to kiss the-

What is wrong with me? Tom once again wracked his brains for answers.

Adelaide raised an eyebrow since he still hasn't answered.

"Class dismissed." The professor called out.
"Let's go." Tom said and left the room without waiting for Adelaide.
Adelaide furrowed her eyebrows in confusion as she watched his retreating figure.
She admired the way his cloak would fly out behind him as he walked down the corridor. Each stride he took held power and pride.

Adelaide sighed.
He was utterly exquisite in every way possible.
