1942
Adelaide woke up earlier than usual the following morning, the reason she had done this was because it was Christmas.
She climbed out of bed, all of the others were empty because most of the students had gone home to spend Christmas with their families. However, Adelaide preferred Tom's company more than her parents.
Adelaide snook up the stairs and silently opened the door to the room Tom was in.
"What the hell?" Adelaide murmured when she found the room empty.
Toms bed was neatly made and he was not in the room."Adelaide." A voice whispered in her ear.
Adelaide screamed and fell to the floor in shock.
She groaned and blushed red when she saw Tom smirking and looking proud."Arsehole." Adelaide murmured.
Tom pulled her up of the floor.
"I thought I would get you back for all the years you have woken me up by jumping me whilst I was sleeping." Tom said, still looking proud.Adelaide grinned and kissed Tom on the cheek.
"Merry Christmas." She squealed with delight. "Come on." She shouted and pulled Tom down to the common room."Here you go." Adelaide handed Tom three gifts, all wrapped in metallic green wrapping paper that was held together with a matte black ribbon.
"Thank you, Adelaide." Tom purred with a smirk.
Adelaide chose to ignore his sarcastic tone and sent a smile his way.Tom handed her the gifts he bought her.
Adelaide had got Tom, a dark magic book.
"yeah you should be on your knees thanking me for that. I went all the way down to knock turn alley in the summer. I've been hiding the book in my dorm since." Adelaide told him.
Tom rolled his eyes and claimed she was been dramatic. But nether the less he was grateful.
She had also got him a golden badge that was a skull with a snake coming out of it. She spotted it in one of the creepy stores down knock turn alley and it made her skin crawl so immediately she thought Tom would like that.
The final present was simply a piece of spare parchment that had two words on it:Death eaters.
Tom furrowed his brows at the piece of parchment.
"What is this supposed to mean?" He asked her."Do you know how I kept on complaining about the name of the Knights of Walpurgis?" She asked and he nodded. "Well there's the new name you kept on telling me to come up with." She told him.
"Death eaters." Tom said, testing the words on his tongue. "I like it." He told her and she smiled.
"Good."Tom's gifts to Adelaide were some of her favourite chocolates from honey dukes. Adelaide picked up the large box and her curiosity increased as she opened it.
Adelaide grinned from ear to ear when she lifted a small, black kitten with azure eyes from the box."Oh my! Thank you so much Tom." She whispered as she cuddled the small animal. "Hello there." Adelaide said to the cat in a voice that one would use when talking to a baby. "What should i call you? Should I call you Tom?" She asked the cat with a mischievous smile.
"Adelaide I will not hesitate to slaughter the animal if you call it Tom." Tom warned her whilst flicking through the dark magic book.
"How about Voldemort?" She asked the nameless cat.
Tom snapped the book closed.
"Adelaide..." He growled.
"Chill!" She shouted. "I'm joking the cat is called liquorice." She told him with a grin.
"Why?" Tom asked in disbelief.
"Because the cat is black and so is liquorice." Adelaide answered in a duh tone.
"That is a stupid name." Tom mumbled and once again Adelaide chose to ignore Tom and focus on liquorice.•••
Adelaide and Tom spent their fifth Christmas doing the same as they did every year.
Adelaide didn't mind though, they always said they were going to do something different but they always prepared the usual. Which was sitting by the fire, Tom would read and Adelaide would make him read out loud. Adelaide would sing Christmas songs and try her best to get to Tom to join in but it never worked. Tom would merely glare at her and shake his head. This year Adelaide was singing and dancing with liquorice whilst Tom watched in confusion and with a tiny smile on his face.
After watching Adelaide's performance Tom suggested that they go to the feast.
The Christmas feast at Hogwarts was spectacular. The ceiling was bewitched to rain down dry and delightful snow flakes from the milky blue coloured sky. The tables were packed with a wide selection of food. Next to the plates and utensils, there was crackers that let out an explosion of colourful fireworks and a wonderful surprise.Despite the fact that Adelaide saw this every year, it never failed to surprise her or bring a smile to her face. She looked up at Tom to see his reaction only to see him looking down at her.
His held was tilt to the side because he was confused as to how something as simple as Christmas could make her so happy.
He wrapped his arm around her waist and gently led her over to the Slytherin table.Adelaide ate until she literally thought she was going to snap the bench in two. Then she went and collected all the crackers she possibly could and set up a challenge with Tom of who could win the most.
Adelaide obviously won and boasted about it for the rest of the feast.Adelaide and Tom were leaving the hall when Tom turned them in the opposite direction of the dungeons.
"Where are we going?" Adelaide asked.
"Ice skating." Tom answered and Adelaide grinned and rushed outside towards the frozen lake."How are you good at everything?" Adelaide asked Tom as he held her hands, helping her skate. Adelaide had nearly fell every time she attempted to skate on her own and eventually had to asked Tom, who was watching her in amusement, to help her.
"Because i am just perfect." Tom narcissistically answered.
Adelaide snorted.
"I would smack you but I would probably fall and break my ankle so I'm not going to." Adelaide informed him."Let's go in before you get ill or break a bone." Tom said.
•••
Adelaide was sat wrapped up in a blanket with tea in front of the fire.
"I love Christmas." She said whilst yawning and rested her head on Tom.
"I know."
