1998

The mysterious place was magnificently alluring.
The floors were pearly white, as where the walls. Nearly everything was white. Except, there was a bed of pure red rose in the middle of the floor. laid upon them was the body of a girl. Her chestnut brown hair was in loose curls, it sprayed out around her like a dark halo.
The girl was Adelaide Gray.

Adelaide's doe eyes fluttered open and then she flung herself up with a gasp. Her breaths came out as pants when she looked around the unfamiliar place.
Moments ago Adelaide could remember being at Hogwarts and everything going dark.

Tom.

Where is he?
"Calm down, miss Gray." A voice that was filled with kindness said.
Adelaide turned in the direction of the voice and there stood Dumbledore.
He looked older than she last remembered. By he still has the twinkle in his eyes and the trustworthy aura around him.

"Professor?" Adelaide murmured.
"Yes it's me, miss Gray." He confirmed with a small smile. "Do you know where you are?" He asked her.
Adelaide slowly shook her head as she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"No I don't. Where is Tom? What's happening?" She asked, tears were glistening in her eyes as panic slowly erupted in her body.
"This is a place between life and death. Adelaide, you are not dead nor are you alive just yet. But you will be soon." Dumbledores answer only made Adelaide even more confused. "Back at home, the year is 1998."

"No. What?" She asked in disbelief. "It can't be. What is going on?!" Adelaide demanded answers.
"There is a prophecy, miss gray. A prophecy that you, Tom and another boy is apart of. The prophecy starting to come in to place when Tom made his first horcrux." Dumbledore started to explain. "You have been in a coma-like state since that day, whilst Tom has become Voldemort. That day everyone thought you were dead, except me. I put your body somewhere safe because I knew that one day you would return."

"I've missed so much." Adelaide murmured in disbelief. "He's Voldemort?" Adelaide asked with a slight smile on her face. "He achieved his goals." She whispered to herself.
Dumbledore sadly nodded.
"Tom is no longer the boy you loved. He's evil, Adelaide. The plans he wanted to achieved are resulting in innocent people been killed. He has become a monster." He told her.
"No. Tom is not a monster. He is a person who has had bad done to him. He deserves anything he wants!" Adelaide disagreed.

Dumbledore only gave her a small, sad smile.
"It's time for you to go back home, Adelaide. Just remember that Tom is now Voldemort." Dumbledore said.
Adelaide's vision was blinded by the light that started to get brighter and brighter until the point where her vision was complete darkness.
"Open up yours eyes and face your fear, Adelaide." Dumbledore words echoed through her ears and caused images of her boggart to briefly enter her mind, before she went back to hearing or seeing nothing.

Dumbledore could now only hope that Adelaide would see past the love that was blinding her and finally face the monster that she was hopelessly infatuated with.
