"Excuse me?" I questioned, my eyebrows furrowing together in bewilderment.

"Fighter please. I miss you so much it physically hurts. It pains me to see you walking down the school halls without holding you. I haven't eaten anything in ages. I've turned into a fucking alcoholic. You're doing this to me fighter." He slurred. "God, I sound like such a pussy."

"Listen, I think you got the wrong number. Can you just leave me alone? Please, my brother just left. I don't have time to deal with you or your pranks. I'm just not in the right state. I don't even know why I'm telling some random person my life story. I just..." I trailed off, feeling a sob bubble into my throat. I blinked away the tears and dropped my head in between my knees. "I just don't know what I'm doing with my life anymore."

There was silence on the other end before the voice spoke, sounding completely sober and confused. "Zach left today?"

My head perked up. "What? How do you know Zach?"

"I- uh- I used to be friends with him and he uh- gave me your number?" He said, though it sounded more like a question. "He told me to keep an eye on you in case something happened and he weren't there."

"Then how is your number saved on my phone as the sexy Caleb?" I asked, massaging my forehead as a headache began to form.

"Oh, you kept that?" He asked softly.

"What? Kept what?" I questioned, feeling even more confused by the second.

"Nothing fighter. Nothing." He sighed into the phone.

"What's with the fighter?" I asked, twirling a piece of hair arouns my index finger. It felt refreshing to have a conversation with someone after so long. Even if that person was a stranger that was incredibly weird- and slightly creepy.

"It's a secret." The voice chuckled softly. I felt a sense of déjà vu.

"Funny, I felt like I've already had this conversation." I chuckled, slumping back onto the couch.

"Maybe you did..." The voice trailed off.

I laughed. "Has anyone ever told you that your voice sounds nice?" I asked.

"Yeah, you did, just now." The voice laughed.

"Caleb, right?" I asked, throwing my legs in the air and swinging them around.

"The one and only." He chuckled. I had to close my eyes at the sound. Then my eyes snapped open. What are you doing Alex? You have a boyfriend!

My eyes widened in panic. I shouldn't be talking to random  strangers, even if they sounded hot or their voice was oddly soothing. "Listen, I need to go now."

"It was nice talking to you after so long fighter, thank you." Then the line cut off.

I sighed, throwing my phone down onto the couch. Why did they speak to me as if they've known me my whole life?

Shaking my head, I made my way into the kitchen. I looked through the cupboards and then realised I wasn't hungry. Liam fed me quite a lot.

I smiled. Liam. Walking back into the sitting room, I grabbed my phone and called my father. Hopefully he still had the same number as before.

After about two rings, he picked up. "Hello?" He spoke.

"Hey dad!" I chirped, grinning.

"Hey princess!" Dad spoke back with equal amount of enthusiasm.

"Dad, Zach left a while ago and I was wondering where you and mum were because I'm currently home alone right now." I informed.

"Oh, we're in your mother's house. Do you need us to come home? Wait. What am I talking about? We will come home right now-" I cut him off.
