Alex's P.O.V

Inserting my key into the keyhole, I twisted it before kicking the door open with my foot. I pulled my key out and kicked the door shut without a glance back.

I leant my head back against the door and heaved out a sigh. I wiped my tears away and threw my keys in the pot on the table.

I don't even know why I was crying to be honest. He told me he was thinking about me while shoving his dick into another girl. I felt sick. Not emotional.

I walked into the kitchen to see my parents cooking and Nick on the table. He was on his phone, looking extremely board.

My parents whipped around at the sound of my footsteps and smiled simultaneously.

"Hey Alex. How are you?" My mother asked, coming towards me before pressing a kiss on my cheek.

I shrugged, taking a seat opposite Nick on the table. "They dragged me here." He mumbled, faking a sob. I laughed, reaching over and flicking his forehead.

"Oh stop being childish Nick!" My mother scolded, whacking him upside the head.

"Damn, the both of you are violent. Like mother like daughter." He muttered, rubbing his forehead and the back of his head.

My mother gazed at me and grinned. All of a sudden, her whole face transformed into realisation. "Nick, I forgot to tell you. Your father called."

Nick froze and I heard my father drop the spatula he was holding in his hand.

"What?!" My father and Nick both yelled in unison. I stared at my mother in absolute shock. I stole a brief glance at Nick to see his face glazed over and a nonchalant mask overtook his features.

"I wanted to tell you earlier but it completely slipped out of my head. He wanted to go for dinner."

"No son of mine is going anywhere." My father spoke suspiciously calmly, taking long and angry strides towards my mother.

My mother flinched before her eyes hardened. "His father just wants to go to dinner Richard! I'm not going to be the one that take his rights away from seeing his father!"

My mother and father had gotten into a full blown argument and I stood up, grabbed Nick's hand and practically dragged him out of the house, not forgetting to grab my car keys off of the table.

I unlocked my car door and got into the drivers seat, knowing Nick was following. He got into the passenger seat and I drove us to a nearby cafe.

Nick didn't seem to question where we were going and he didn't seem to care either. I couldn't help but feel a sense of sympathy towards him. I'd been there. He didn't care about where we were going because he wanted to get away.

Hell, I felt the same way right now. I couldn't give two fucks about my parents fighting. I was used to that. I needed a break from everything that was happening outside the box.

Caleb. I gritted my teeth as his devilish, handsome, smirking face flashed into my head, causing my grip on the steering wheel to tighten.

Parking up into the cafe's parking lot, I pushed the hand break down and pulled the key out of the ignition after turning the car off.

I got out of the car and closed my door, waiting for Nick to exit. He closed the door behind him and I locked the car, slipping the keys into my pocket.

We walked side-by-side into the cafe and picked a booth in the back. I ordered a regular coffee for the both of us and I sighed, facing Nick who was sitting opposite me.
