I stood up from my desk and grabbed my books. I exited the classroom and took slow and steady steps towards my locker. Doing my pin, I opened the locker and dumped my books in.
Lunchtime. I shook my head and made my way towards the cafeteria. I pushed open the large double doors and was about to enter but stopped short when I felt a hand clamp down onto my shoulder.
I frowned and spun around to meet beautiful icy blue eyes. "Lexa," Liam spoke quietly.
I shot him a surprised look. "Liam? What are you doing?" I asked.
"Can we talk?" He asked, his hand slipping from my shoulder.
"About?" I asked. He glanced away, shaking his head.
"Not here, let me take you out to eat." I leaned against the double doors, my arms crossed over my chest.
"No, why can't you speak to me here?" I asked, taking in the way he rubbed his bottom lip with his thumb.
"Please Lexa, I'm desperate over here." He pleaded.
I thought about it for a second.
No Alex! He's just going to disappear again.
But I really want to know what he has to say.
No Alex, don't fall for it!
What if it's important?
"Come on, you must be hungry as well," Liam broke me out of my conversation with my inner self.
I bit my lip and hesitantly nodded. His eyes widened in shock for a minute before his face broke out into a heart warming smile.
"Come on Lexa! Follow me beautiful," He grabbed my hand and practically dragged me out of the school. I frowned. I hate being dragged. Jerking my arm back I followed him to his mustang.
"Where did you get the money to afford this?" I muttered, placing my hand on the roof.
He looked a bit hesitant before replying. "I've been saving up."
I raised an eyebrow at him. I glanced back at the car and hesitated a moment before opening the car door. The last time I got into a car it didn't end well. I clenched my hands together before getting in and shutting the door shut after me.
I took calm and steady breaths while Liam got in and put his seat belt on.
"Where do you want to eat?" He asked. I shrugged, glancing out of the window.
"Oh! I got this place, it's amazing, you'd love it!" He smirked, pushing his key into the ignition before driving.
"How did Selena find you?" I asked him, tugging at the sleeves of my jacket. The question has been bothering me for a while and I needed to know. I needed to get it off of my chest.
He sighed before answering, "Her father. That old bastard could find dirt on anyone. I don't know exactly how he knew you were associated with me all I know is he could find information on anyone with a click of his fucking fingers." I frowned but nodded anyway.
"Why did you come back?" The question pierced through the air and lingered. He grew tense but soon relaxed back into his seat. He took a brief glance at me before moving his eyes back on the road.
"For you Lexa. I came back for you. No matter how many times you deny it you'll always be my girl. You'll always belong to me. Only me." He took one hand off the steering wheel and grasped onto my hand that was placed onto my lap.
I didn't even move it. Something told me to believe him. The short little heart strings I had wrapped around his words and kept it there. But my heart didn't agree. This wasn't right. I know it wasn't. Yet something about the way he said the words, the way his crest fallen expression brightened as he said this got to me. So I let his hands grasp onto mine.
