Epilogue

My gaze was stuck on Caleb's striking features and bold green eyes with my emotions in a frenzy. He reached out and cradled my face in his hands, gazing at me like I was the most precious thing in this world and he was afraid of breaking me.

"Fighter." He murmured. "No matter how angry you are at me, I want- no, I need you to know that I love you to the fucking moon and back."

I felt another tear drop slip out of my eye but Caleb was quick to catch it. "Please tell me something. Anything. You're killing me here." He whispered.

"You didn't lose me Caleb." I choked out. "If anything, I thought I lost you."

He looked as if he just breathed for the first time, in a long time, causing me to feel all sorts of tingly sensations. 

"Never." He breathed out, wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into his warm, hard chest. It was the most comfortable feeling in the world. Me swallowed up in his arms. His arms wrapped around me. Shielding me from the world. Protecting me.

I savored the feeling and sighed.

"Best birthday ever." I mumbled into his chest. He chuckled, the sound vibrating throughout his chest.

"Not over yet, this is only the beginning." I pulled away with my eyebrow raised and he groaned, pulling me back into his arms.

"One more minute." I chuckled but froze when the lights suddenly turned on and everyone- I mean EVERYONE. I'm talking teachers and the principal included yelled. "Happy birthday!"

I froze, hiding my face into Caleb's chest. I pulled away and stared shocked at the entire cafeteria.

My Chemistry teacher mouthed 'Calex' to me and I swear I felt my head spin.

"Dear God!" I whisper/yelled. Caleb chuckled, kissing my forehead.

Suddenly someone yelled. "Kiss!" In the crowd, and soon everyone started chanting kiss. Jordan was galloping around the cafeteria screaming it.

Caleb shrugged, pulling me into his arms and placing his warm, soft lips onto mine- and just like that, I forgot everyone and everything.

Suddenly no one was here, it was just Caleb and I in an empty room, confessing our love to one another through a kiss. He pulled away and grinned. "Tongue later."

I tipped my head back and laughed. My gaze skimmed through the crowd as everyone cheered and I stopped short when I caught sight of Alayna, Liam and Selena, standing together watching us. Selena frowned, Alayna's face remained nonchalant and Liam...

Smiled.

He smiled! He shot me a small wave and mouthed 'happy birthday.' I nodded as that was all I could muster up. I was at lost for words. He suddenly wrapped his arm around Alayna's shoulder and kissed her. My eyes widened. So they were a thing now. Alayna wasted no time in kissing him back and for once, she actually looked... happy.

Selena was watching them with jealousy, and that people... is going to be another story. As long as she's not getting in the way of my man then I was good.

"So fighter..." Caleb trailed off. I glanced up at him to see him wearing a huge smile. He wrapped his arms around me and leaned his forehead against mine. "I promise to look after you until my last breath and I swear no one's getting in the way of us ever again."

My eyes widened. "You're not... proposing are you?"

"No." He chuckled. "Well not yet anyway." He added, winking.

I laughed, pecking his lips. "Good, because I would've rejected you. Sorry not sorry."

"This is the beginning of a beautiful story."

"Save some huggies for us." Jordan yelled, strolling towards us and wrapping his arms around the both of us, followed by Nick and Dylan.

"I love you guys so much!" I yelled out loud.

"Not as much as you love me though." Caleb whispered in my ear, causing heat to rush up to my cheeks.

"Hey! I heard that!" Jordan yelled.

This truly was the beginning of a beautiful story.

I glanced up at my friends, feeling the most strangest feelings. Caleb shot me a beautiful dimpled smile, and the tingles that had shot up throughout my body was undeniable. Either I was completely oblivious or I hadn't realised it until now- but these people were my true adrenaline rush.
