I Love You

Chapter Eleven - "I Love You"

The next morning, you don't feel like going to school.

Though you tough it out, get up anyways, and go.

Rumors have been spreading around like wildfire, saying that you and Lin have broken up already.

Many students approach, and ask you if you had any confirmation.

You ignore the questions as respectfully as possible.

You manage to get through class without any problems.

You keep debating in your mind, whether you should approach Lin at lunch or not.

You want to clarify things, but you are too afraid to confront him.

You decide that it's best if you do talk to him.

This gossip is distracting you, and you need it to stop.

Lunchtime.

Pippa, Jon, and Chris all nod to you in support.

You approach Lin's table, and tap him on the shoulder.

"Hey! What's up?", he asks you.

"Can we talk, in private?", you ask.

"Yeah, sure!", he agrees, and stands up to talk to you.

"Do you want to tell me what's going on before I roast you?", you ask.

"What do you mean?", he asks in defense.

"Chris showed me a picture of you and another girl. You were playing around with her, and it looked a lot like flirting.", you say.

"Oh!", he realizes. "Is that what everyone is talking about?"

"Uh, yeah!", you sass.

He laughs to himself.

"What's so funny? You cheated on me!", you exclaim.

You say it a little bit too loud, and everyone in the cafeteria gets quiet.

"That's not another girlfriend.", he says. "That was my sister. She was in town for homecoming, and that's just how we are. We like to play around with each other."

"How can I be so sure?", you ask slyly.

Lin sighs, "Your friend must've took that picture when, I had just told her that I got Homecoming King. She was proud of me, and hugged me tightly... as she always does. I was laughing because I was trying to loosen her grip."

You look at him, but you don't say anything.

"Look, I understand if you think I'm cheating, but I'm not that guy.", he says. "I know I'm popular, but I'm a nice person, and you should know that."

He takes a deep breath. "I love you.", he says.

You look into his eyes, and both of you have tears streaming down your faces.

"I love you too.", you say back.

You both kiss each other, and embrace.

Everyone that was watching, cheers.

You smile up at him, knowing that you have found true love.
