"Fred, it's not fair that you got Angie and bagged on Ron for not having a date, how do you think I'll look now?" George whined carelessly, collapsing on his warm comforter. "A piece of cake, really?"

Feed snickered, "sorry about that Georgie, but you know I had to stick it to our brother."

"Well I understand that part," the red haired boy explained, tugging at a loose thread on the G of his jumper, "but now I have nobody to ask, all the other girls from the Quidditch team have dates."

"Come on George, you're the second most attractive Weasley, second to me of course, you're bound to find someone."

"I wouldn't be so sure," moaned George, muffling his speech with the pillow he thrust over his face.

"Come to think of it actually, Bill and Charlie are both pretty handsome. And apparently Ginny is growing up to be quite the catch," mused Fred, swinging his lanky legs off the edge of an old wooden desk that sat in the dormitory. "Not to worry Georgie, you're still better looking than Ron, and definitely Percy."

"It's not hard to be better looking than Percy, Fred," mumbled George from behind the pillow, causing his twin to snort in laughter.

"Well who could you ask then. There's Lucy Wilkins, that pretty Ravenclaw girl?"

"She has a date," spoke George.

"Right then. What about Meg Chambers, or Laura Ashbrook, from Hufflepuff?" Fred questioned, thinking of the similar blondes from the house of black and yellow.

"Durmstrang," moaned George.

Fred grimaced, the Durmstrang boys had done particularly well with the girls of Hufflepuff, where Beauxbatons boys had marketed more towards the Slytherins.

The Slytherins...

"George, sit up."

"If you throw something in my face Fred I swear on Merlins underpants," threatened the boy, sitting up straight on his bed.

"I'm not going to throw something at you, I've had an idea."

Zöe Adams pushed through a group of giggling Ravenclaw and Gryffindor girls, who were just a small chunk of what seemed to be hundreds of desperate girls milling through the corridors giggling about dates to the Winter Ball.

Zöe had read about the Yule Ball in history books before, but never realised it would be such a logistical nightmare, and cause her so much trouble throughout the corridors of the school.

Pushing open the heavy wooden doors, Zöe strolled out into the courtyard, her bag of books hung neatly over her right shoulder, which she clung to gently for extra book support.

Her school shoes splashed softly in the puddles, and the young witch caught a glimpse of her brown eyed reflection before shattering the stillness of the small section of water with her foot.

Raindrops began to fall once more, catching in Zöe's dark hair, and freckling her smooth and clean white shirt, giving the shirt a much messier appearance than the slick green and silver tie she wore.

The cool weather made the girl decide to hurry slightly faster, despite constant accusations of the Slytherin common room being cold and derelict, Zöe had always found it quite lovely herself.

Halting her in her tracks however, was an eccentric boy of her year, a red and gold tie boasted on his chest and brown eyes glimmering down at her under a mop of red hair.
