"To school, I should come with you to school!"
I laughed out loud but when Jacob didn't join in I stopped to give him the stare. Is he crazy? He can't just MOVE IN!
"You're serious?" I said, extremely confused.
"Yes. I'm dead serious." He said, his face hardening.
"Okay well, I'm just gonna pretend you didn't say that because clearly you haven't thought it through. Jacob, you live in Virginia, I live in Maine, please, fill in the blanks to this story because it makes no sense." I said sassily and sounding a little more mean than I meant it to sound.
"I just hate the thought of you getting bullied." His voice was quiet and defeated.
"It's not such a big deal," I said. "Hey, let's watch a movie! You like horror or comedy?" I said holding up some options.
"Comedy?" He smiled.
"Cool!" I went over to my bed and grabbed my laptop. I set it up on the floor where we had our blankets and popcorn and popped the disk in.
The film ended. It was great! Jacob laughed so hard he swallowed his own spit and started coughing, then started laughing at his coughing which ended up in more coughing until he finally got a hold of himself! It was hilarious!!
Jacob was sleeping on the floor on an extra sleeping bag we had.
"Night." I said quietly.
"Night." I heard a soft sleepy reply.
I woke up and saw Jacob still in his sleeping bag on his phone. I sat up in bed and he looked over at me and smiled.
"Morning." I muttered drowsily.
He laughed. "Good morning. You sleep okay?"
"Yeah, you?" I asked. "How long have you been up by the way?" I asked while checking the time. "Oh my gosh, it's ten!" I laughed. "I don't know when you're used to getting up, but I always sleep in when I can!" I giggled some more.
"I slept fine," Jacob laughed. "And I've only been up for like five minutes, so it's cool. But I totally get you! I do the same thing, my stomach usually wakes me up around ten thirty." We both laughed and I got out of bed. "I'll go get ready then let's head down for breakfast, sound good?" I said as I grabbed an outfit for the day.
"Okay! I'll get changed in here if that's fine with you."
"Yeah that's fine just leave the door open when you're done so I know." I said while closing the door and headed for the bathroom.
As I got dressed all I could think was, Jacob Sartorius is in my HOUSE. Jacob Sartorius and I are FRIENDS!!! WHAT?!?!?!?
I walked over to the mirror after getting no dressed and practically had a heart attack!! All my makeup was smudged under my eyes and ugh, it was an all time low. NOT how I'd want a super cute guy who's also my friend to see me. I wiped my face clean of all my leftover makeup and redid my usual makeup. I walked back to my room and opened the door. Jacob was standing there with his shirt off!! My face flushed and I felt horrible, I'm such an idiot! I told him to open the door when he was done but I forgot all about that, I just barged in!!
I could feel my face turning bright red, "S-Sorry, I'll go." I said and started to close the door.
"No, no," Jacob ran over to the door and opened it. "It's fine, I'm done anyway." He said and threw on the shirt he was holding.
"Want to grab breakfast?" I asked, pushing some hair behind my ear and not making eye contact for fear that I might blush like a crazy person.
"Sure!" Jacob replied as his phone dinged. "Hold on." He said while he unlocked his phone and read the text.
"Oh, Skylar I'm really sorry, but I have to go." He said.
"Oh, yeah it's okay." I said curious as to why he needs to go I suddenly.
Jacob grabbed his duffel bag and turned back to me. "Do you want to get together again tomorrow? I'll have to go back home soon to Virginia."
"Yeah, sure." I forced a smile. Well this sucks. He's just a kid, how come he has so much work to do. I wonder if he actually wishes he could just have a normal life.
"I really have to go." He said sadly. "Thank you for everything, and please thank your mom for me for having me." He said politely.
I nodded, and I knew that he knew I was kinda bummed.
Then Jacob walked up really close to me and hugged me. I was breathless, I wanted him to let go because I was super shy, but at the same time I never wanted him to let go. It was like a big bear hug, he was nice and warm.
"Bye Sky." He released me with a smile.
"Bye." I said shyly.
