"I got bullied a lot in school." I said holding back my tears.

"Skylar, that's horrible." Jacob put his Hand on my shoulder. I immediately felt tingly.

Please don't touch me. I thought. I can't like him. We're just kids, and my family would freak out. And NOT in a good way. Plus I can't bear to get my hopes up about anything ever again. I don't like putting my walls down. For anything. Or in this case, anyone.

"Skylar will you please look at me??" Jacob asked.

I exhaled sharply, and looked up at him with pinkish eyes.

"Are you getting bullied AT ALL anymore?" Jacob asked he sounded super serious.

"Not much, I mean only a little bit..." I saw Jacob's face immediately filled with anger. "But i-it's not that bad!" I stuttered, trying to patch up my phrasing.

Jacob let go of my shoulder and I could see that he clenched his jaw.

"Jacob please, don't worry about me, ok? I'm fine." I said.

He looked at me. "That's what they all say." He didn't believe me.

"Jacob, seriously. I'm fine. Thank you for your concern, but I'm fine." I said wanting to badly end the subject.

"I should come with you." I said mumbling a little.

"Excuse me?" I asked confused.

"I should come with you!" Jacob repeated looking at me.

I stared at him weird. "I still don't understand." I laughed a little.
