I smiled, "I'm meeting someone special,"

Jess's eyes widened, "Cade?!" she exclaimed.

"Yes. . ." I said. "who else?"

Brynn jumped out of her seat, "You can't date or even meet Cade!" she exclaimed. "You will just fall for him, and that will ruin you! I was his girlfriend when he got amnesia and then he kisses some witch and goes and forgets everything!"

Wow. No comment.

"Uhm, thanks for the advice Brynn, but Cade's my friend, not boyfriend," I lied.

"I'm gonna go get that lemon chicken wrap now," said Jess quietly, getting up from the table.

"Us too," said the cheerleaders other than Brynn.

"Well, it looks like its just us then," I said casually, but Brynn seemed to have other plans.

"You stay the frick away from My Cade! If he deserves to date anyone, it's me!" Brynn, being the psycho ex-girlfriend that every girl wanted to avoid being.

"Wow Brynn, for a moment there I thought you were a crazy ex, and now I believe that I was right!" I said with a full smirk.

Brynn looked me dead in the eyes, her usually sky blue orbs turning a stormy dark color as she placed her manicured hands on my shoulders. "Don't make me chip a nail," she threatened. "You can either listen to my verbal threats or go down the hard way," she said smartly.

"I like a challenge," I replied.

"OK then," said Brynn, "after school, we will set up a challenge, if you can get Cade to fall in love with you without using lies-"

"What I said wasn't a lie!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, whatever,"

"It wasn't!"

"Anyways," said Brynn, even more annoyed than before. "You have to make Cade fall for you before prom without using the whole 'before amnesia' thing,"

"How would I prove it?"

"Ooh!" Brynn exclaimed. "I see you're up for a challenge!"

"Of course," I said. "Now do tell,"

"Cade has to confess his love to you at Prom," Brynn said, clicking her tongue.

"Gotcha. Lets shake on it," I extended my palm and looked at Brynn's turquoise fake nails.

"Anything for a loser, I like a good competish," Brynn said, eyeing my clear nails.

"So you think I'm competition," I smirked.

"Maybe," smirked Brynn back.

"Just shake my hand Brynn," I said, annoyed.

"Alright,"

We shook hands and then Brynn wiped her palm on her skirt, eyeing the spot disgustingly, like it had slime on it.

"Are there any other parts to this challenge that I should be told?" I asked.

"Nope," Brynn said, popping the 'p'. "Cade will fall for me again, I'm sure of it," she said confidently.

"Deal starts NOW!" I exclaimed, running out of the café and to the courtyard as Cade sent me another message.

From: Cade:)

WHERE ARE YOU?

I kept running straight and made it to the school doors that led to the courtyard.

"Cade!" I yelled, seeing the blonde hunched over his phone on a bench.

"Natalie!" Cade exclaimed as he saw me run towards him. "Where have you been? I've been waiting for fifteen minutes or more!"

"I'm sorry Cade, my friends were holding me hostage," I apologized with a half-lie, way to go Nat!

"It's okay, you're here now," said Cade, leaning in for a kiss.

I pulled away, "Cade, I don't want to date you without you knowing what your life was like before amnesia. It's not fair to you and all of your old friends. So I have a proposal for you first. We are going to start over as if you are a new kid here, we can be friends, but not more, and we can go from there. How 'bout it?" I asked.

Cade opened his mouth to reply. . .
