"You really want me to be your girlfriend?" I gasped at Cade's question. "Like a legit dating thing?" I couldn't believe my eyes.
"Well, unless I did all this to be rejected, then yes." Cade pulled out a card from behind his back. The card read: We Kissed? in big black letters and a sparkly heart.
"No, um, yes!" I rubbed my eyes as Cade's expression changed.
"Is that a yes?" Cade asked.
"Yes, and because you know this already, we kissed, and you liked it," I said, telling Cade a lie straight to his face.
"I liked kissing you," said Cade, stating it as more of a statement than a question.
"Yeah. Do you need time to process alone or do you want me to stay?" I asked.
"Uhm, could I have time to process please?" Cade asked.
"Of course, I would do anything for you Cade, this isn't any different. I hope, that when you do get your memory back, you'll remember what we have,"
Cade smiled and looked at his palms, which were in his lap. "Thank you Natalie,"
"No problem," I said casually, turning my body facing away from Cade and waking towards the lunchroom where Jess was.
"Hey Jessie," I greeted my best friend.
"Hey! Nat!" exclaimed Jess, "good to see you!" Jess smiled and introduced me to the cheerleaders she was sitting with.
"Hi, I'm Katie, this is Brynn, Hannah, and Raquel," gestured a brunette to the table of girls.
"Hey guys," I said, sitting down with my binder, ready to wait for the line to get shorter before I waited in it.
As I put my backpack under my seat, my phone buzzed with a text.
From: Cade:)
To: Natalie
Hey can we meet in the courtyard?
I messaged back:
From: Natalie<3
To: Cade
Sure, are you cool now?
From: Cade:)
To: Natalie
Haha, yup, c u in 5.
I picked up my bag and looked Jess, "could you maybe get me a lemon chicken wrap with strawberries please? Oh yeah! And also a vanilla iced frappe?" I smiled, "I'm meeting someone special,"
Jess's eyes widened, "Cade?!" she exclaimed.
"Yes. . ." I said. "who else?"
Brynn jumped out of her seat, "You can't date or even meet Cade!" she exclaimed. "You will just fall for him, and that will ruin you! I was his girlfriend when he got amnesia and then he kisses some witch and goes and forgets everything!"
Wow. No comment.
