Amnesia Love

Natalie!" exclaimed Jess, my best friend, running into a few people as she ran through the cafeteria. As people gave Jess glares, Jess flipped them off and kept up her quick pace. I picked up my jumbo Hershey's bar and picked off a large piece as she neared me.

"Natalie Portman! You won't believe me when I say this, but Cade's back!" Jess exclaimed, waving her hands in front of my face. My Hershey's bar fell to the floor with a clunk and my mouth fell open as the piece of chocolate dropped to the floor. My face immediately paled and I put my palm on the table and then, I blacked out.

"Natalie?", a voice was above me. Where was I? I opened my green eyes and Jess's blurry face came into view. My contacts focused and suddenly I saw three more people around me, other than Jess. I sat up with a jolt and felt myself get dizzy before falling back onto the nurse's office's bed. In front of me crowded four familiar faces, Jess, my mom, Nurse Harley, and Cade. The nurse and Jess stepped back as my mom rushed forward and sat on the edge of the bed.

"Oh honey!" Mom exclaimed, engulfing me in a tight bear hug. "I'm so glad your okay! When Miss Harley called me, I was so worried!" Mom murmured in my ear, "My poor Nat." As soon as she let me go, Jess rushed over to me to explain what happened.

"As soon as I mentioned that Cade was back, you fainted. What happened between you and him before he got amnesia and moved?" Jess asked quietly, so that Cade wouldn't hear.

"I'll tell you later." I murmured not wanting anyone but Jess to know.

"How are you feeling Miss Natalie?" Nurse Harley asked me.

"Uh, better I guess, can I go to lunch now?" I said, looking at the clock behind her instead of making eye contact. The nurse nodded and Jess helped me up to go to lunch. As Jess and I were leaving, Cade stopped us.

"Hey, I'm Cade." Cade said, a smile on his face. My heart melted, the boy who had broken me, killed me inside, had gotten amnesia because of me, was talking to me? I looked at my nails, which were sharp, and pinched my palm, making myself wince.

"You okay?" Cade asked, stepping forward to try and look at the reddening spot on my palm. I looked into his concerned eyes.

"Y-yes. I-I'm fine." I stuttered, my brain not functioning properly.

Cade smiled, "Good. I'll see you around then," he paused, "Cutie." Cade then left and I turned to Jess and closed my eyes.

"Oh no you don't!" Jess exclaimed, watching me try to faint from happiness. Jess snapped at me and put her hand on my back, pushing me forward and forcing me to walk. I was in heaven, no wait, I was on cloud nine in heaven! Jess pulled me along the classrooms and then pulled me into the lunchroom.

"Hey!" Cade greeted, his beautiful body coming closer to me.

"Hi Cade!" Jess said cheerily.

"Hey Jess?" Cade questioned Jess's name.

"Yeah, its Jess." Jess replied. "Can I steal Natalie for a second?"

"Sure, just don't lose her!" Cade joked, though Jess didn't catch it.

"Okay, you said you'd tell me what happened between you and Cade before he got amnesia, so spill it girl!" Jess demanded, no smile present in her features.

"Nothing happened!" I exclaimed. "What makes you think I had anything to do with him getting amnesia?" I asked.

"I don't think you caused it, or any bull crap like that, I just want to know if you knew anything!" Jess exclaimed.

"No. I don't." I said sharply. "Now give it a freaking rest!"

"What's wrong?" Jess asked, concern filling her face.

"Nothing Jess." I said. I turned on my heel, threw my sack lunch into my tote bag, and ran out, sobbing while the cafeteria all stared at me and my pathetic self.
