Chapter 3: More Than A Crush

(Happy's POV)

          I'm sitting at my work station and all of a sudden I hear yelling. I rush to the others and everyone looks at me.

"Great! Just what we needed!" Sly exclaims. 

"What do you mean, Sly?" I reply confused. Everyone looks so uncomfortable right now. Something seems weird...

"Where are Walter and Toby? What's going on?" Cabe asks. He looks at me and I just shrug unknowingly. Paige just looks at me and gives me a sympathetic look. I ignore it and answer Cabe.

"Beats me." I say and walk away.  I go upstairs and Paige follows behind. I really don't want to talk to her right now, but she keeps following me. 

"What do you want, Paige?" I ask irritated.

"I want to talk to you about Toby." she says timidly. I sigh and sit down. 

"Fine." I give in. She smiles and starts talking.

"So, do you think it's a crush or something more?" Paige asks curiously.

"I don't know, but I think this is more than a crush..." I say and face the ground.

"Honestly, I've always wanted you two to end up together. It's about time! The Quintis ship has finally sailed!" She exclaims.

"But I don't think that Toby feels the same way." I say, but the look on Paige's face tells me that she knows something that I don't. "Do you know something that I don't?" i ask furiously.

"Umm.Something like, Toby likes you a lot more than you think he does? Nooo." She blurts out as her smile fades away and she covers her mouth. He likes me?! Oh my god! Stay calm, play it cool...

"Are you sure?" I ask, trying to stay calm. She nods her head and jumps up and down with excitement. I just smile. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I NEVER THOUGHT THAT TOBY WOULD EVER LIKE ME. 

"Thanks, Paige. I needed that." I say truthfully and go downstairs. When I get downstairs, I see a furious Walter chasing a frightened Toby. I wonder what Toby did this time. I shake my head, smiling. 

"Happy, help me out here!" Toby shouts as he runs away from Walter, but Walter abruptly stops.

"Oh, so now you're gonna call Happy to come and rescue you? She is the reason we got into this fight! You can't just have feelings for the people you work with and think it's okay because it's not!" Walter argues. I just stare at them in complete shock. I can't believe that Walter just said that! I thought that I could trust him, but apparently I can't! If this were him and Paige it wouldn't have been a problem, but since he can't have what he wants, he takes it out on Toby and I. Whatever. I am so done. I leave the garage and get on my bike. I drive with tears filling my eyes and no place to go. Then I realized that I have no one or anything that I can go to right now.  This is when my break down starts, tears started falling more rapidly with sobs that only I can hear and then all of a sudden....CRASH!
