Chapter 4: What Just Happened?

I wake up and I all see are six unfamiliar people standing next to me.

          I open my eyes and all I see is a bright light and six shadows surrounding me. I don't know any of these people. I can't remember anything. Not even my own name...

"What happened?  Who are you? Where am I? What's my name?" I ask frantically.

"Slow down, kiddo." The middle-aged man says to me and I just listen. "You're in a hospital because you got into a motorcycle accident. The doctors said that you would have memory loss from the impact of the accident. They said that you flew off your bike after getting hit by an SUV. We work with you on Team Scorpion. I'm Agent Cabe Gallo and your name is Happy Quinn." Cabe tells me and I look around. I'm hooked up to machines, I have my head wrapped, and my leg in a cast. 

"Okay, so now that I know that you are Cabe...who are you guys?" I ask. None of these people look quite familiar, but the one in the hat is really cute. Then a tall guy steps forward and introduces himself. 

"Well, I'm Walter. The leader of Scorpion." Walter says and then he steps back.

"I'm Toby, but most people call me Doc. I'm the behaviorist for Scorpion." The one with the hat steps forward and takes a bow. I love his personality...how could I forget someone like him? After toby, the rest of them finish introducing themselves. 

"So, Happy, the doctors are letting you out today, but they said that you had to stay with someone and you can't be by yourself for twenty-four hours." Toby says and I just give him a blank stare. "Would you like to stay with me until you're allowed to be by yourself?" Toby smiles with hope and I just nod and try to act cool.

"Thanks, Doc." I say appreciatively. He just smiles and tips his hat.

I have a few hours left before being discharged. Everyone has left except for Toby. He has been by my side all day. I love it when he is around. He is so sweet, funny, and caring. My memories started flooding back in an hour ago, but I still don't remember everything. I remember the things that happened last night and I remember how Toby said he liked me and how Walter almost killed him because of it, but I don't think that Walter can stop me from liking Toby back because I'm falling way to fast to be caught this time. I think that I am going to tell Toby how I feel...it might end up well, it might not. Whatever it is, it's worth the risk.

"Hey, Toby?" I call out.

"Yeah, Hap?" He replies

"Do you like me?" I ask calmly.

"Yeah..." He admits. YAY!

"You do? Because I like you too." I say, smiling. 

"Really?" His face lights up.

"Yeah!" I exclaim. He doesn't respond, instead he just walks over to me and kisses me. I stand there in complete shock before I kiss him back. This is the best day ever!  And then I realize that, it's moments like these that I wish could last forever.
