It was Saturday morning & Marnie came over to help me choose an outfit for tonight. Now, let me tell you that my first date was NOT supossed to be with Shawn. "Ou, this is cute!" Marnie observed. My eyes scanned across the light pink lace dress she held in her hands. I nodded. "That'll do" I put in my little studded earings and I was basically ready for tonight. I'm going to be honest, I was super nervous. I jumped when my bedroom door bust open. It was Andrea. I was quite suprised actually, but I was even more suprised when I saw here crying. "Jesse and I broke up." she sunk down on the floor, pulling me down with her. "I told him not to call me again, but then my phone kept ringing and I was hoping it would be him" I chuckled a bit. "Then why did you tell him not to call you again?" Andrea looked at me with a tear stained face. "Because sometimes you tell people never to call you again, but you secretly hope that they care enough to never stop." I sighed. I guess I kind of felt bad for her, but she was putting a lot of stress on me for tonight. What if Shawn & I did end up dating? And then we broke up. I don't think I'm ready to get hurt. No Sam, that's stupid. You and Shawn will never have anything to do with each other after tonight. I stood up and brushed my hands on the front of my pants, making them wrinkleless. I bit my lip, and sat back down beside Andrea. "I guess this means you aren't still mad at me?" I asked. Andrea shook her head, placing it on my shoulder. "I could never stay mad at you, Sam." she informed. I smiled, and got up walking to the bathroom.
Hours passed and it was time for Shawn to pick me up for our "date". I didn't even consider it a date like everyone else did. I considered it a hangout. I ran to the door as I heard the doorbell ring. "Wow, you look stunning" Shawn smiled. "Thanks you look good yourself I guess." I mumbled, closing the door behind me. Shawn smirked, and walked me to his car. He had a nice car. I don't know what type it was, but it was black and I think it was kind of old fashioned. Shawn followed me to the passengers side, and opened up my door for me. I nodded at him, as a way of saying thank you. My nerves were building up, and I'm pretty sure he could tell because before he walked back to his side, he said "Hey, don't be nervous" before he closed my door.
We arrived at the resturant and Shawn grabbed us a booth. I set down my bag on the empty space next to me and put my hands down on the table. "Lets make this clear, Shawn. This is not a date, It's a hangout." Shawn laughed. "That's fine, as long as I get to be with you." I rolled my eyes, but on the inside I had a warm fuzzy feeling. I'm not too sure if it was because I was nervous or because Shawn was a nice sight to look at. "You're blushing." Shawn said, making me lose my train of thought. I felt my cheeks, which were really hot. "I am not, it's just hot in here." Shawn slowly nodded. "Mhmm.." "Lets just order." We ordered and our food came a bit later. "You know, Sam. I think you like me." I choked on my water. "Me? Like you? Theres no way in hell that would ever happen." I said, making sure he knew. "Then why'd you come tonight?" I put my hands on my thighs, and scooted back in my seat. "I did it for my friends." Shawn laughed, once again. "Why do you keep doing that?" I asked. He tilted his head sideways. "Doing what?" "Why do you keep laughing at everything I say?" Shawn took a drink of his water, and then continued. "I don't know, I guess because you're cute." he marked. "Do you wanna get out of here? I have a place I want to show you" I finished my last bite to eat and agreed to leave.
"So what exactly are you showing me?" I asked. He kept his eyes on the road. "You'll see." I was a little bit worried. I mean, he was a teenage boy. and most teenage boys wanted to get in teenage girls pants. I sighed, and looked out the window. It was dark, and it was raining a little bit. I guess we arrived at our stop because Shawn parked the car. "Okay, get out." He said, stepping out of his side. I looked a head, and saw nothing but trees. We were in a god damn forrest. What could he possibly want to show me at a forrest, at night. Shawn took my hand, and walked me a bit farther. I looked ahead to see a Gazebo covered in little lights. It was really nice to tell you the truth. "Do you like it?" he asked. I nodded. "It's really nice, did you do this?" "Yeah. I have a suprise for you too." I loved surprises. But I was still a little bit nervous. Shawn ran out of the Gazebo into the dark woods, and came back a minute later with a guitar in his hand. "You can play?" I asked. "Just sit down!" He pushed my shoulder down, making my body move down onto the chair.
"You know I'd fall apart without you
I don't know how you do what you do
cause everything that don't make sense about me
makes sense when im with you.
like everything that's green, girl,I need you
but it's more then one and one makes two
put aside the math and do the logic of it
you gotta know you're wanted too"
He started. I had no idea he could sing, and he sounded so angelic.
"Cause I wanna wrap you up
when I kiss your lips.
I wanna make you feel wanted
and I wanna call you mine
wanna hold your hand forever
and never let you forget it
cause baby I, I wanna make you feel wanted"
Shawn finished the song and I was awestruck. "Tha- That was amazing" Shawn blushed at me. "You think so?" I grabbed him and placed my lips on his. "I know so" Shawn's eyes widened. Did I really kiss him? I hated Shawn. He appauled me. Why in the world did I kiss him? "It's getting late, you should drive me home." I said, walking toward the car. Shawn followed behind me, and started the car. The whole ride home was silent until we reached my house and he walked me to the door. "Thanks for tonight." I said. Shawn nodded at me before I walked back inside. I waited a second before opening the door again. "Hey Shawn," I said making him turn around. "You really aren't so bad after all."
"Neither are you"
