Chapter 10

Eventually everybody knew about Megan, & people even started bringing baby gifts to her & cards that said "Congratulations"

I sat at the lunch table with Andrea & Marnie as they watched me eat. "Are you alright, Sam? I mean this whole Shawn thing seems t-" I cut Andrea off. "I'm fine." I said as I finished my lunch. I looked over at the table that Shawn sat at & gagged as Megan sat on his lap.

"Boys are stupid, I mean I might as well go lesbian." I joked. Marnie laughed. "Girls are just as bad, Sam." she said. "Yeah, but girls can't get other girls pregnant." Andrea & Marnie nodded in agreement.

I sat in Math class bored out of my mind when I got a text. It was Megan.

Megan:

Hey, can we talk? Meet me in the washroom, 900 wing."

I asked to use the bathroom, & walked to the other end of school just to go talk to Megan. I walked in, & she gave me a slight smile.

"Hey." she said. She looked like a complete train wreck. Her hair was a mess & she was wearing sweatpants with a mustard stain on the right thigh.

"Look, I know we don't have a good past. & I just want to say that I'm sorry that I ruined what you had with Shawn. I wish I could take it back. I'm in a huge mess, Sam. My parents almost kicked me out, & everyone hates me. I just wanna fix things with us."

As much as I didn't want to accept the fact that she wanted to be friends, I felt bad.

"It's fine.. I didn't care too much for Shawn anyway." I whispered. Megan nodded. "He really liked you." she replied. I looked up at her. "No, he didn't."

Megan rolled her eyes. "Yes he did. You were all he ever talked about. He always bragged at parties about how lucky he was to have you. & I screwed that up." I looked at Megan confused. "But Shawn & I weren't even dating." I said.

She shrugged. "Well that's what he told everybody." I looked at Megan as her phone vibrated. She scrambled around her bag to find it. She sighed & placed it back in her bag. Megan looked upset.

"What's wrong? who was that?" I asked. She wiped the tear from her cheek. "Nobody." Things got awkward, & the only sound I could hear was Megan crying. "There's obviously something wrong. Is it Shawn?" I questioned. Megan nodded. "You can't tell anyone this, promise?" A lump formed in my throat. "Yeah. Yeah, I promise"

"It isn't Shawn's baby." I suddenly felt sick again. "Then who's is it?" I asked. Megan stared at me, & back at the ground. "It's Matt's. But I thought it was Shawn's. I promise I didn't purposely try to screw things up for you guys. But Shawn & Matt are best friends & I knew that if Shawn found out that Matt was the one that got me pregnant, he's beat the shit out of him. Before you & Shawn even had a thing we hooked up, but Matt & I hooked up after that & that's when things started feeling weird. I thought that it was Shawn's because I hooked up with him first, but we used protection. Matt & I didn't." I started at her shocked. "When did you figure this out?" I asked. "I don't know, Last night." I sat down on the bathroom counter. "Well does Matt know?" she nodded. "Yeah, but Shawn doesn't." I bit my lip in confusion. "Well are you going to tell him?" Megan stepped forward. "NOT yet, so please don't tell him. I'll do it soon."
