Dustin froze, trying to fight the urge to approach the boy. His body ignored his mind, which was screaming at him to run, to get away, to do something to get away from that boy.
"I'm Dustin," was what came out of his mouth. The boy started and looked up.
"My name is Luca James," he said softly.
"Dustin? Did you need something?" The English teacher, Miss Amy, as they called her, spoke up.
Dustin nodded, tearing his eyes away from Luca.
Something flashed before his eyes. Luca's eyes. What changed? Not the shape, or brightness, or anything he could name.

Colour. The word whispered through his mind.

Other things, small things, changed. Luca's eyes were the same deep colour as the leaves on the trees outside. Miss Amy's hair, Dustin's shirt... They all appeared different.
"Luca...?" Dustin breathed. "Do you see this?" Luca looked around.
"Do I see what?"
