"Tell me everything," Dustin said as Luca paced. Luca opened his mouth and then closed it.
Would the risk of Azrael coming after Dustin be worth it?
You're selfish, Luca, he scolded himself, You know the only reason you care is so you won't be alone.
"Can we talk on the balcony?" Luca sighed. "I need to smoke." Dustin nodded, trailing behind the other boy.
Luca watched as Dustin sat on the ledge, and lighted his cigarette.
"You know," Luca said slowly. "I remember a lot. I remember your leather jacket that you always wore. I remember how your eyes used to look like amber when you walked outside. I remember... I remember the first time you said you loved me."
"Why?" Dustin asked softly. "Why didn't your father approve? Neither would mine, so I likely never told them."
"The same reason your parents wouldn't. My dad... he wants grandchildren. Someone to..." Luca paused, slowly losing himself in his thoughts. "Someone to continue the family traditions that wasn't his failure of a son."
"Oh, Lu..." Dustin sighed, leaning back slightly. Luca tensed, not wanting him to fall off the edge.
"You're not a failure. You must be something special if I loved you."
Loved. Past tense.
Luca dropped his cigarette and turned away from Dustin.
"I'll find a way to get your memories back," he silently promised.
"What?" Dustin asked, snapping out of his thoughts.
"Hm? Nothing," Luca lied. "After I tell you everything... I should probably leave."
"Then talk," Dustin said softly.
"It all started back in late May, early June..."
