I never realized how truly beautiful the trees were, until now that I'm leaving. The carriage has passed by my old school. Some young children gathered at the gates and waved at me. I smiled and waved slowly back.
"You know, we'll have to talk eventually."
I turned to look at the elf sitting across from me.
"And why is that?" I asked.
"The Woodland Realm is farther than you might think." He chuckled.
"I'm Lindir." He continued.
"I'm Liliana. But I presume they already told you that." I rolled my eyes.
"Heh, you'd be surprised."
"Would I?" I always tried to remain posture and poise when I spoke with people who were unknown to me. Even with this awkward Lindir guy here. Its much better that he sees me as a snooty princess than a rebellious savage.
There was a long pause of silence. Only the sound of the horses' hooves, scraping into the gravel remained.
"Is he kind?" I asked.
Lindir looked down, then back up at me. He swallowed.
"At times."
At times?!
"What exactly do you mean by, 'at times'?"
"He's not too bad, for a guy who just lost his father. He can be a little cold at times."
"God...He seems great." I said sarcastically.
"You'll warm up to him eventually."
"Eventually..."
I turned my attention towards the window. The sun was just setting. By what Lindir said about the ride, we would probably arrive shortly after 11:00. My groom-to-be would be in his precious room getting his precious rest. I cringed internally. A woman's life starts when she's in her 20s, yet I was spending my early adult life in a carriage, already arranged to be wed to a prince I've never even met. Elizabeth had always told me that women should spend their early years experimenting and flirting with all sorts of men. The sky is getting darker....and darker...

::::Flashback Scene 0-0::::"What's this?" I point at the large purple stroller.
"This is a carriage, people ride in it with their mothers and fathers."
"You want to go on?" My mother gestures at a tall bearded man, who comes over rather quickly.
"Your Highness, would you like me to open the carriage up for you and the young lass?"
"Yes, Mr. Park. My daughter and I would love one. Would you be able to accompany us?"
"I'll do my best, my lady."
Mr. Park opens the tall black door. My mother lifts me up to the stoop. The inside of the carriage was black accompanied by violet colored lace. I crawl up to a seated position on the cushioned seats. My mother sits down next to me. Mr. Park cracks a leather whip at the horse. It neighs and picks up speed.
"Mama, look at that!" I tug at my mother's dress.
"Oh, yes, love. That's lovely...." She trails off and looks blindly at the sky. Her face pales.
"What are you looking at?" I ask.
"Nothing in particular. Just everything."
"What, what does that mean?"
"Nothing. Forget it darling."

"Ms. Liliana~"
What? Are we here already?
"What is it, Linda?" He chuckles.
"No, no, my name is Lindir."
"Oh, my bad," I say half-heartedly.
