The next morning they walked into the library to see everyone gathered around Magnus. Jace sat down and pulled Clary down on his lap.

“OK, so I want all of you to meet two of my oldest friends,” Magnus begins, holding everyone’s attention. “They’re not here, but we will meet them in the park, in an hour.”

“The park?” Simon asked, surprised at such a mundane place to meet some of Magnus’ friend, who Simon presumed weren’t mundane.

“Yes the park, it was the most appropriate place, anyway one of them, Tessa, is the one who transforms.”

“The one who had a similar case to Jace?” asked Isabelle.

“Yes, along those lines anyway.”

“What about the other person?” Simon asked.

“You’ll see. This isn’t school and I am certainly not the teacher, so come with me if you want to meet them!” exasperates Magnus. “Oh and Jace, Tessa is one of your ancestors.”

“What?” asked Jace, as they all stood to follow Magnus.

“Yes, she was married to Will Herondale, sadly he passed away a few hundred years ago.” Remarked Magnus, thinking back to when Will had come to him in fear of his ‘curse.’

They walked through the gates, still glamoured. They walked towards a bench, where a couple sat. The girl was wearing skinny jeans, knee high tan boots, and a jacket, while her hair was tied up in a bun. The boy beside her was wearing a blue cashmere sweater and jeans.

“Tessa, Jem!” Magnus exclaimed hugging the two people who had been sitting on the bench. Magnus whispered something to Tessa, and her eyes widened. She looked over Magnus’ shoulder, looking at Jace.

“OK, this is Jace, Clary, Isabelle, Simon and Alec.” Magnus introduced each of them, gesturing to each as he said their name. Clary noticed that Tessa’s expression changed when Magnus introduced Alec, Clary couldn’t guess why.

“Well ye’ve met Jem already.”

“What?” Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon and Alec all asked.

“Well not in this form. He used to be Brother…”

“Zacharia!” interrupted Clary.

“How did you know Clarissa?” asked Jem.

“I just knew. You always seemed more humane than the others, and when I visited Jace in the infirmary, you said you remembered your old life.”

Jem laughed. “I underestimated you!” Clary looked closer at him, it was hard to imagine that this boy! - That looked no more than nineteen- with brown hair, sun kissed skin and golden eyes had been a Silent Brother with his lips stitched together and no eyes! Clary had to admit he was kind of good looking, but he wasn’t her Jace!

“How are you human though?” asked Alec, not seeing it to be possible.

“They removed the runes I received to become a Silent Brother.” Jem explained, he thought about it for a second and decided it would be better to explain the whole thing. “Well, in the 1800s I was a shadow-hunter, and my parabatai was Will Herondale. Anyway I was sick, dying, I was only nineteen but there was no cure back then, anyway while I was on my death bed they placed the runes to make me a Silent Brother, and now that I’m a shadow-hunter again I’m not sick.”

“Wow!” said Simon, amazed. The rest of them looked at him in shock.

“Are you a shadow-hunter, Tessa?” Clary asked, recovering.

“Half, I thought I was a mundane but when I went to London in the 1800s two Warlocks showed me how to transform, for their own benefit, anyway Will rescued me from there,” her eyes darkened, and her face saddened. “I was engaged to Jem, but then he became a Silent Brother, so we couldn’t be together. Also there was a mundane who knew about the shadow-world and down-world, he also had powers, and he had me kidnapped. But then all the other shadow-hunters came to rescue me, and I transformed into Raziel. Anyway I found out that my mother was a shadow-hunter and my father was a demon.” She explained, her face full of emotions, and her eyes seemed distant, as though remembering all of this as she recounted it to the others.

“Can you still transform?” asked Simon, curiosity gnawing away at him, Clary knew this whole thing was still new for him, even if he was a vampire.

Tessa nodded and asked for an item belonging to someone. Clary handed Tessa her bracelet.

Tessa fumbled through the dark for a minute, trying to find the spirit or soul to the item- eventually she found it. Her hair fell down around her, reaching just below her ribs, she could feel herself getting smaller, shorter and thinner. This girl has a small build, she thought.

“Wow! Two Clary’s!” exclaimed Jace. The real Clary hit him on the arm. He raised his hands in defence.

“Do you have her voice?” Alec asked, speaking for only the second time.

“Yes! But this will wear off if I take off her bracelet, it used to last for only a short time, but I’ve controlled the time limit as I’ve practiced.” Tessa explained, with Clary’s voice.

Tessa took off the bracelet and handed it to Clary, who was in awe.

“So you were married to Will Herondale?” asked Jace, changing subject.

“Yes, for quite a while, but that was nearly a hundred years ago or more.” She said.

They talked all evening, about Jem having been Brother Zacharia, Tessa being able to transform and of how she contained Heaven’s fire. They also talked about Simon being a vampire who could walk in sunlight, and of what Clary and Jace had gone through, really they recapped their shadow-hunter lives.

When they got back to the gate to the institute, they saw Maia and Jordon sitting on the steps talking. They jumped up when they heard the gate open.

Ohhhh what will happen next xx ;)
