Clary walked towards her and Jocelyn’s old apartment. She couldn’t really remember what had led her there. She supposed it was because she wanted to take her mind off of everything that was happening. Only when she was standing in front of an empty door frame, did she realise that this was the worst possible place to take her mind off of things.

She felt tears come to her eyes, yet she couldn’t figure out why. The only way she could describe it was home sickness, and even that wasn’t relatively close to what she was feeling.

Making her way towards her old room she heard a shuffling sound coming from the remains of the kitchen. Turning towards the source she found Simon leaning against the doorway.

“What are you doing?” She asked, a slight hint of accusation in her voice, as he had invaded her space.

“Same as you I suppose… mind if I stay?” he asked and she shook her head no, and continued her way to her room. Tattered pages hung on the walls, the ink had faded; making the runes barely visible. They were all that was left of the room she’d last seen the day Valentine had taken her mother.

She sunk to the ground closing her eyes. A cold arm wrapped around her shoulder and she leaned against his stone side.

“What do you think she wants with us?” Clary asked quietly, glancing up at him.

“I really don’t know. I have a feeling there is more behind her initial motives.”

“I have a feeling that Sebastian is involved in Maureen’s scheme,” Jace said, holding everyone’s attention. “So I have a plan!”

“But Clary and Simon aren’t here,” said Isabelle, squinting her eyes at him- as though she could figure out his plan by simply doing just that.

“Exactly, if Simon were here he would tell Clary and this plan is to save Clary. Sebastian obviously wants her, and I’ve seen what he wants to do with her. So when we hand ourselves over to Maureen and Sebastian here’s what we’ll do….” began Jace.

Clary couldn’t help but feel that Jace was hiding something from her. When she had come back at eight he went to the bathroom to get changed and went to bed.

“Isn’t it a little early?” Clary had asked when she got in beside him. He shook his head, and faked a yawn.

“Just tired.” Then he had turned his back, demolishing any hope of conversation. Not even; ‘how was your day,’ ‘what did you do?’, or ‘how are you feeling?’ He just ignored her.

Maia wasn’t used to walking on two human legs anymore. She had remained in wolf form for so many nights now that it was more natural for her to have four legs. They had scoured every forest, cave, beach, anywhere they could think of really, and still no sign of Maureen. She had started to become doubtful that Maureen was even in their reach, yet she didn’t express her thoughts.

They heard a blood curdling scream in the distance and without a second thought all of them transformed and headed forward. ‘Just a week left,’ Maia reminded herself, before concentrating on the task ahead.

I know I haven’t updated in ages, and this is really short. But I just couldn’t come up with anymore ideas for this chapter. Please please comment and vote  xx
