Bea could not believe what she was seeing.
In front of her eyes from up upon the rocky outcropping was a practical sanctuary. Rock Slimes, Boom Slimes, and Pink Slimes alike hopped along the stony floors, bouncing off the walls with a happy "Woohoo!" as if the two girls had not entered their world at all. However, that was not what had captured Bea's undivided attention. Monstrous, long, white crystals bigger than any gemstone she had seen before towered up towards the skies, never touched, never held. Long, thick moss grew off of their sides and ledges, proving the crystals were hundreds of years old. They glittered and gleamed in the sunlight, showing off their true olden beauty.
They were mesmerizing, captivating all who may see them. "To think," Mochi finally whispered, breaking the still silence "This whole other world, shut away behind an ancient stone gate, never to be seen by humans, ever, and we're the first ones to ever see it..."
"Yeah." Bea said, breathless due to the world in front of her. She could feel her heart beating faster and faster, about to take off soaring through the air with her jet pack to see what this new world had to offer to ranchers of all ages. "Well," Mochi said, finally broken out of her trance "Let's see what we find, shall we?" suddenly dashing off the edge before Bea could answer. "Right behind ya!" Bea yelled after her, jumping off of the cliff edge and hovering in the air after Mochi until the jet packs energy gave out.
Mochi had never felt this alive in all her years of her life. Never did the past Mochi, whom was always cooped up in her father's mansion playing video games and reading internet articles about the Far, Far Range and dreaming those were her, think that she would be here, actually ON the Far Far Range, running as fast as 95 miles per hour due to new age technology in a brand new place no one had ever been before. She raced past several rock formations, only occasionally looking back over her shoulder to make sure Bea was fast behind her, hopping off of walls and onto rock edges upon trying to get the lead away from her. Eventually, when their energy tanks became depleted, they stopped, both panting. "Geez," Bea said, wheezing and panting trying to catch her breath "You sure do run fast for someone so small." Mochi lightly punched Bea's arm after the friendly tease "What? I'm telling the truth!" she lied which lead to another light punch.
The two girls laid down on a stray patch of grass, feeding on a new type of vegetable that the Slimepedia registered as an "Oca Oca." They tasted like potatoes, and when baked, just like the baked variant. However, they were much smaller than their earthen counterpart. However, besides that, there was a much larger difference. The Oca Oca grew in massive bunches, ranging between 5 - 7 bulbs per plant, which made up for their small stature.
"The sun is setting," Mochi finally said as Bea finished her last Oca Oca Bulb "We should probably get going."
"Just gimme a sec." Bea said, reaching for her last bulb...
Only to touch the stone floor below.
She didn't think much of it at first thinking "Ok, I probably just missed it." She reached down again to try and find the bulb, only to once again touch stone. Confused, Bea whirled around only to find nothing but stone beside her, and... a trail of crumbs? Bea followed the trail with her eyes, only to find that the trail disappear behind one of the many twisting stone walls. "What the...?" she mumbled, rising to her feet. "What's wrong?" Mochi asked, worried. Shortly afterward, she too found the trail of crumbs leading behind the wall. They slowly followed the path, and peered around the wall, somewhat scared of what might have snatched up the Oca Oca bulb.
And once again, their jaws dropped at what they saw...
