why is josh even talking to me?

i've never said a word to him, why does he find me interesting enough to text?

the door to my room creeks open slightly, i toss my phone across my bed and position myself to make it appear as though i'm still asleep.

footsteps walk closer to my still body, "oh tyler, my poor baby.." my mothers voice whispers, with the emotion only a mother could give. she lightly pets the hair at the top of my head and begins to silently sob.

do i make her that disappointed?

"why can't you just be normal." her voice shaken and scarce but still i can hear.

she's right, i'm not normal.

soon enough her presence leaves my room and my door is closed so lightly that it's hard to tell if she actually shut it.

i sigh, feeling my lungs flatten, and then gasp for air and feel them enlarge.

it's almost painful.

i shut my eyes again and allow the voice in my head to consume me.

since it's all i have to talk too.

bing

oh, it's josh.

josh: heyyy you there?

tyler: unfortunately
