"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life; and the life was the light of men." 1 John 1:1-4;
The importance of the word of God is stated in these four verses of the scripture. It says that the Word is God and in Him is life; which means the only way we can be intimate with God and get His life is by staying with the Word. Studying the Word; knowing the Word, understanding the Word, and obeying the Word. Only then can we reign with Christ in His glory here on earth and also in eternity. The last verse continuous by saying "and the life is the light of men;" this means the only way you can be at the top, the only way you can shine in this world, the only way you will be clearly distinct from the people around you is by staying with the Word. Now we understand that the Word is not just letters but God Himself which means studying the word means staying with God. Spend time to listen and read the Word. Invest in your Word growth. For it will teach you all the things of life. The Word is the pathway to greater grace, the pathway to son ship in Christ, the pathway to the principles of the Kingdom; therefore sit in the school of the Spirit with the Word and be ready to obey all that He wants to teach you. Ask the Spirit to open your Spirit to the Word for He gladly will.

1. Help----- Romans 8:26-27; "Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. And He {Jesus} that searcheth the hearts knoweth what the mind of the Spirit is because He {Jesus} maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God."

2. An ever present friend-----John 14:16; "And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever."

3. He quickens------Romans 8:11; Psalm 80:18; "But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." "So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name?"

4. Peace-------Romans 5:1; "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."

5. Love personified---------Eph 5:2; "And walk in Love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour." God is love; therefore, the verse says "walk in God" and 1 John says the Word is God. So read the Word to walk in God.

6. Guidance------John 16:13-14; "Howbeit when He; the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for He shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you."

7. Avoid the way of the past------ Isaiah 43:18-19; 2 Corinthians 5:17; "Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." In Christ there is no past, He sees you as He sees the Son, Jesus.

8. The Love of God------Romans 8:38-39; "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

God's love is everywhere, most essentially His love is in you and nothing can take Him away from you not even your own sins. He sees you beyond your actions or word, as long as you are in Christ; He sees you through the Word that is Jesus. Stay on the Word; study the Word so you can find all these truth that is hidden only in the Word. God loves us so much; words cannot tell only Him can reveal the fullness of His love to you.
