It was early Saturday morning, two weeks after my first date with Scott. He was coming over to work on an English assignment. I heard the doorbell ring and dad opens the door before I could. Scott had a rose in one hand and the other gripping the handle of his duffel bag even though it was slung over his shoulder.

"Good morning Mr. Argent." He smiles at me. "Good morning Allison."

I smile. "Good morning Scott."

He holds the rose out to me and I take it slowly.

"Let me change and then we can work on the front steps."

"Ok."

I start to go upstairs but stop when I hear my dad.

"Scott, can I have a word with you for a minute?"

"Of course, Mr. Argent."

I listen as they walk into the living room.

"My daughter is suffering from depression. She hasn't been handling the things of the past very well. She's closed herself off to people." My dad sucks in a breath. "She's acting like her old self when she's around you though. You and your friends have done wonders. I can't get her to stay in a room with me for more than three seconds but I don't care. I just want her happy and you seem to be the one behind that. So I want to thank you for looking out for her and for making her smile."

"Mr. Argent, you have it all wrong. You shouldn't be thanking me. I should be thanking you."

"Why would you thank me?"

"Because you made her and raised her. My life became a trillion times brighter the minute I saw her. She's the most incredible girl I've ever met and I can't get her out of my mind. Making her happy is one of my favorite things to do. I'll always make sure she's happy," he says.

"You're a good young man," my dad says. "You should join us for dinner one night."

"Sir, I'd be honored, but I'd prefer the invitation to come from Allison. I want to earn it so thank you, but no thank you. Allison's opinion matters way more to me."

I bite my bottom lip and rush upstairs, changing quickly and then jogging down the stairs. Scott stood from the couch and smiles.

"Ready," he asks.

"Yeah." Scott's hand was stretched out to me and all it took was a second for me to grab his hand and lace our fingers together. "Lets go on the steps."

He kisses my hand and we sit on the steps. He had his notes and his smile.

"I was thinking we could go see a movie after we've finished," he says softly.

I nod and kiss him. "That'd be nice."

He was dazed when I pulled away. His eyes were closed and his mouth was slightly parted. He was perfect. He was perfect and I wanted him to be mine. I kiss him again and this time he kisses back, hands on my waist to pull me closer. I couldn't get enough of him. We pulled apart for air but then I launched right back into another kiss. Kissing Scott was like a dream, surreal and something I never wanted to wake up from. I put my hands behind his neck and run my fingers through his hair. Scott pulls away and I go to kiss him again, but he kisses my cheek and leans his forehead against mine, out of breath.

"We...we still have to finish the project" he says breathlessly. "I'll be all yours when we finish. I promise."

"All mine?"
