I was with my study group at the library. We were relaxing after the exam we had just taken. We were just lounging and having conversations about our week break.
"Tracy, what are you gonna do during your break?"
Tracy blushed. "I'd rather not answer Allison."
Ethan shakes his head. "Oh come on Tracy, we're all friends here. Tell us what you've got planned."
Tracy sighs. "I'm gonna surprise my boyfriend Theo on his campus. He's supposed to be driving over here in two days but I really miss him and I wanna see his dorm."
I smile. "That's sweet. Where does he go?"
"Yale. What about you Allison?"
"Scott goes to Yale too. He's really busy so I'm probably just gonna have to chill in my dorm. I'll probably have to FaceTime him to fill my loneliness."
Ethan shakes his head. "That sucks. If you want, I have some straight friends that would just love to show you a good time while you're lonely."
I shake my head. "That's sweet Ethan but I'd rather just wait till I can see Scott."
"Fine. Have it your way."
"I like it her way," Scott's voice says from behind me. I jump up and see him wearing a black hoodie with the words 'My girlfriend's cooler, prettier, and smarter than yours'. "Hey beautiful."
I pull him into a kiss. It felt so great to feel his lips on mine again after so long. I only pulled away when Ethan cleared his throat.
"You two must be Tracy and Ethan. I've heard such great things about you both. Thank you for keeping a close eye on Ally for me. I was afraid she'd finally realize that she's out of my league."
I shake my head and pull him back into another kiss. "I've missed you."
"I've missed you too." Scott sighs. "I do have to go back soon though. We have a game and I can't be late. It'd look bad if the team captain was late."
I bury my face into his neck. "No, I just got you back. They have you all the time. It's my turn."
"I'll come straight back after the game. I'll shower and I'll be back in your arms in no time."
I pull away from him. "No, because I'm gonna come with you and spend the week at your dorm. I'm not letting you out of my sight for even a second."
Scott smiles. "You're gonna come see me play? You sure? We're versing your school's lacrosse team."
"In that case, I'm gonna need one of your jersey's so I can represent my man from the bleachers."
Scott wraps his arms around my waist. "You are the absolute best girlfriend ever."
/
Scott scored the winning shot and Allison cheered from the bleachers.
"How do you know Scott," a girl wearing a Yale sweatshirt asks. "I don't think I've seen you in any of the classes."
"I don't go here. I'm a psychology major at Harvard. Scott's my boyfriend."
"That's so cool. Scott's the best player on the team. Today was his best game yet. You must be a great motivator."
Scott jogs over and jumps the railing that separated the field and bleachers. He pulls me into a kiss and I was more than happy to reciprocate. Scott's name was being chanted so I pulled away to stare into his eyes.
"You were amazing out there."
"Its because I wanted to impress you."
"Well you succeeded. Now I think that we should go out to celebrate? Dinner? Just the two of us?"
Scott nods. "The team invited me to a victory party but I'd much rather spend my time with you."
/
I was cuddling with Scott in his room. His dorm was nice. It had a kitchen and living room that connected it to another dorm. It reminded me of Saved by the Bell the college years.
"Do you get along with your roommate?"
"Sorta. We bud heads from time to time but he's ok. He's no Stiles."
"So Stiles is your ideal roommate?"
"Of course he is."
I turn to him and run my finger down his jawline. "So you wouldn't want to room with me? You wouldn't want to share a bed? You wouldn't want to shower together?"
Scott groans and buries his face into my shoulder. "You know I want all of those things. I want those things for the rest of my life."
I couldn't help but let out a loud laugh at Scott's adorable puppy like pout.
"Keep it down in there," a guy shouted.
Scott rolls his eyes. "Shut up Theo!"
I sit up. "Theo? By any chance does he have a girlfriend named Tracy?"
"Yeah. You know her?"
"She's my roommate. You met her when you surprised me."
"Seriously?" Scott laughs. "Small world."
He kisses me and it was gentle and slow. It was calming and when we pulled away, we both looked like we could fall asleep right then and there.
"Would you hate me if I said I was too tired tonight," Scott asks.
I shake my head. "After the exhausting game you played, I'm surprised you stayed awake this long." I glance at the clock that read 3:42 am. "I'll make you breakfast when we wake up but right now I'm gonna curl into your arms and pass out."
"You say the most romantic things," he says in a sarcastic voice.
I smile and he pulls me down into his arms and we slowly drift to sleep.
/
I woke the next morning and Scott was holding a tray of food in the doorway.
"Glad to see you awake, love of my life." He kisses my forehead and puts the tray in front of me. "Did you sleep well?"
"No, I wanted to make you breakfast."
"I know, but considering it's lunch time, you can make breakfast tomorrow."
I sigh and pull the tray closer. "And I slept great. I always sleep better with you beside me."
"I do too. I feel whole when you're in my arms. I hate that you can't sleep in my arms all the time."
"One day, I will be."
