I opened my eyes to see a white ceiling and flickering lights.

"Oh thank god," my mother says. "Chris, go get the doctors."

"What...What happened?"

"A woman ran a red light and t-boned the car and the car went into a tree. This is the first time you've woken up in three days. Scott's been here the entire time. The only times he's left is to get food for us and use the bathroom."

"How's Melissa?"

My mom shakes her head. "She died on impact."

Scott walks in and sighs. "You're awake. I was so worried." He walks over and kisses my forehead. "I'm so happy you're ok. I don't know what I would've done if I had lost you."

Scott takes my hand gently and kisses it. I squeeze his hand gently.

"Scott," I say weakly. "I'm sorry."

"Don't apologize. Just get better. I was so worried about you. I'm so happy you're ok."

My mom says "The only injury you had was a concussion. Thank god."

My dad came back in with a doctor. She checked my vitals and asked me about any pain. Scott was in the corner watching carefully.

I was sitting at the dinner table, pushing around my food.

"Honey," my mom says. "Is the food ok? Do you want something else?"

I shake my head. "I'm just not hungry." I look up. "Can I take some over to Scott?'

My mom nods. "I already put some in containers for him. How has he been since the funeral?"

"He's destroyed. I think the funeral made him realize that it was real and not just some terrible nightmare. I just wish he didn't have to be in that house alone now. His dad gave him everything of Melissa's, every cent, but he left town right after signing the house over to Scott and giving him his number so that he can reach out whenever. Scott doesn't want to go to his dad's because he's in Virginia and he loves Beacon Hills too much."

My dad nods. "Well, he can come stay with us if he needs to. Our door is always opened for him."

"I'll be sure to tell him that." I stand slowly and take the bag of food from the fridge. "I'm gonna grab some clothes. I'm gonna stay with him for a few days. I wanna make sure he's handling it all as best as he can."

My dad nods. "Don't do anything your mother and I would ground you for."

"I just want him to know he has me to lean on."

I knocked on the front door and it opened immediately, it wasn't even locked. I quickly dropped the food onto the kitchen counter, had my phone ready to call for an ambulance, and raced upstairs. I heard the shower running and I walked right in with the door unlocked. Scott sat on the floor of the tub as the shower head rained over him. He had the shampoo bottle in his hand and was just staring at the wall. I reached behind him and turned the freezing water off. He looks up at me and I take the shampoo bottle out of his hand. I go into his draws and pull out a pair of black boxers and a towel.

"Come on," I say as I help him up and wrap the towel around his waist. "Let's get you something to eat and then into bed."

"I," he started but stopped soon after.

He dried himself off and slipped on the boxers. He followed me downstairs without a word. He took a seat at the table and I put some of the food in front of him. He looked down at the plate and pushed it away. I gently put it back in front of him. He looks up at me and slowly starts to eat. He finished and washed the plate himself before trudging up the stairs. I followed after him up to the room and he laid on the bed which was still made. He faced the door and just stared off into the distance. I strip off my pants and shirt and put on one of his t-shirts instead. I slipped in behind him and wrapped my arms around him.
