All three of us were walking towards this restaurant with Scotty squeezing in the middle of us. "Um, okay why do you need to be in the middle so badly Mr. squirmy?" I said with a laugh.
"I'm the guy. I can protect both of you better if I'm standing next to each of you. Ya know in case anything happens. Just being safe."
"Bridget has pepper spray. It's hooked on her purse. She always holds it when we are walking places. Literally, everywhere. She's so paranoid." Audrie said while looking at me.
"Woah! Why do you keep blurting out all these things about me that just don't need to be said yet." I said in a very assertive tone.
"Bridge, the pepper spray is in a hot pink tiny tube dangling off the side of your purse. He would have seen it before we got done eating dinner I guarantee it."
"She's right. I actually noticed it when we were packing up things on the tour bus. I wasn't gonna say anything. It''s no big deal. A lot of girls carry it around now a days." His deep blue eyes stared down at me.
I hesitated for a second, "Um, yeah. My parents got it for me. I watch too many of those CSI murder shows. My imagination just runs sometimes. Especially after an incident that happened with one of our friends last- " My sentence got cut off my Audrie's death glare. "Never mind."
He had a confused look on his face as his eyebrows were raised, "Okay, Understandable. Well, we made it safely anyway. Here we are." He opened the door for us, like the gentleman he is, and we headed on inside.
"Table for 3 please," Audrie politely said.
The worker grabbed three menu's, "Right this way."
"After you," Scotty said while motioning his arms in front of him telling me to go first. I smiled as I started walking ahead of him.
"Thank you." We all said to the lady who seated us in a corner booth. I sat in the middle of Audrie and Scotty.
We all looked at the menus for awhile before ordering what we wanted but we were all satisfied with our order. While we waited Scotty spoke up.
"Okay, so I wanna get to know you guys better. So tell me about yourself. Either of you guys go first."
"Audrie you can go first." I said while making eye contact with Audrie.
"Okay, I'm 19 I go to college in Nashville, Tennessee at TNU. It's a private college. Very Christian college too. My dad is a pastor and him and my mom met at TNU, so I decided to follow in their footsteps. I absolutely love it. It's small so everyone knows everyone. I'm majoring in Public Relations. I enjoy planning events and would like to work towards something dealing with that which is why I believe moving to a big city would be best for me."
"Interesting. The whole city thing I mean because you look like the kinda girl who would enjoy living in a remote area." He was genuinely interested and that made me smile with how considerate he was.
"Oh, I could totally live the city life. It's practically calling my name. I love the remote chill areas too though. I like the quiet and peacefulness where you can sit outside and hear the sound of crickets."
"That sounds like my kind of living." Scotty said with a laugh.
"Bridge, it's your turn I believe." Audrie said with a smile.
"Right, well I'm 19 too. I go to school at IU in Bloomington. I love it there. We don't know everyone on campus because there's thousands of us but it's a good atmosphere. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else honestly. I plan on majoring in photojournalism. I'm more into writing than anything. I could write all day and not get bored. I actually want to move to North Carolina. I traveled to Wilmington, North Carolina over the summer with my grandparents and completely fell in love. It's gorgeous and I could see myself living there. I'm looking at internships in North Carolina for over the summer as well."
"Wow. Never would have guessed that you would wanna move to North Carolina. Well, it's definitely an awesome place and I highly recommend trying it out for a summer. I can give you a grand tour of tiny old Garner." He smiled at his response while staring at me.
"I'm really hoping I can try it out for a summer. I might just take you up on that tour as well. Don't forget those words, buddy!" I said with a smirk.
"Food!" I heard being screamed in my ear by Audrie.
"Someone's hungry. Good lord." I said while giving her a not so happy look as my ears were ringing.
The waitress gave us our food and as we dished up we carried on casual conversations about our families, hometowns, and school. It was great getting to know Scotty personally and not just through interviews. There's really a lot more to him than what those tiny interviews said. He always put us first and never wanted to talk about himself. He just wanted to get to know Audrie and I so he could personally connect with us. He's so sweet, I thought while I stared at him at the table. I just hope I don't screw up the rest of the night. I love how Audrie is lying back a little bit hoping Scotty and I hit it off. Gosh he was so cute the way he smiled at me. The waitress came back over with a check and laid it on the table, "No rush. Take your time."
"I got this ladies." Scotty said while grabbing the check and pulling out his wallet.
"Are you sure?" I said, "We have money. You don't have to pay for us."
"It's my pleasure. Plus what kind of gentleman would I be if I didn't pay for a girls dinner?"
I just smiled at him and nodded as Audrie did the same. As he was getting out his money, "Ya know I'm surprised no one has noticed you yet."
"I'm not all that popular. I'm kinda surprised too though. Usually one person would have asked me for a picture by now. But I'm okay with it. No interruptions is good." He said while scribbling his signature on the white check.
Little did we know that Alyson had been spying on us with her friend. She hid herself very well and none of us noticed.
"Are you ladies ready to head back to the bus and head to your house?"
"Yeah, absolutely. Let's go" I said and led the way out the doors and we all walked to the bus with a smile on our face.
I'm sorry if this chapter was really boring. It'll get better on the next one I promise. Stick with me. Don't leave yet!
