Chapter 17: Weird day, old people, New start

[LUCY'S POV]

I can't breath. .. Natsu.  The heck is wrong with you..

Suddenly I felt tears stain my cheeks , my emotions swirling inside my head. With out even thinking I had already walked out my room , my feet has a mind of its own, slowly descending the stairs and dragging myself out of the house.

I kept wondering and wondering, not caring where I am going or heading to.

Suddenly I felt someone grip me on the shoulder and whirled me to him , being  mindless as a zombie right now I fell in his arms an hard chest.

"Oh Lucy.. What happened to you" his voice worrisome.

I looked him up and smiled , well forced one. "Hi ya Dan..."

We exchanged some formal greetings and he asked me if he could assist me home. I was about to say something when he insisted.

"Fine.. But lets get icecream first..can we?" I asked him and he nodded.

Dan Straight, He was one of my bodygaurds back then but due to some issues with my father he quited. He was a good friend of mine, but sometimes he would stalk me and adores me creepily all the time. We met through a friend I met, coco. She introduced him as a knight in shining armor of sorts, my father being interested he took him in.

Its been years but he doesn't look different at all.

"So.. Hows you? Have you found your girl?" We sat by the near bench and softly ate our ice cream , though he just looks a far and lets it melt.

He looked at me and smiled softly , his eyes having a whirl of emotions of sadness and happiness. "Im fine princess. Maybe that girl isn't really for me, theres a lot of girls to follow and stalk.." He chuckled and just ate all of his icecream in one bite.

"Lemme ask you, I heard he's back. " he wiped his mouth and eyed me curiously.

I couldn't answer right away, he took in my silence as a form of saying im not ready and patted my head for some comfort.

"Well its getting late princess. I'll take you home." With that we left the park and silently took a ride home.

We arrived and he slid out first and opened the door for me. He's still such a formal friend even now.

I hugged him tight "I'm happy to see you again Dan, I hope this isn't the last time I see you.."

He laughed and hugged back he lets go and smiles widely , bit too cocky.

"Hahaha, this isn't the last princess , the princess does need to be saved as always and I , the Knight in shining armor wil be their to save you.. " he let me go and drove away, when he was out of sight I sighed deeply and remembered natsu..

Gosh...did he have to hurt me this bad.. Why am I even this affected..

I unlocked the gate and went on, then I noticed something new.

This rose..

This blood red rose , somehow came to life.. Its been dead ever since I noticed.. But now it shines under the moonlight , it's blood crimson red color made it look like it just bled, so beautiful yet so dangerous..  Its torn just sticking out as it's color, waiting to take the victims who dares try to touch it..

As enchanted as I am, it gives me a weird feeling seeing this rose, a feeling at the pit of my gut that I cant place a finger on.

"..l..Lucy? " a voice chirped in. As I was just about to turn to see who it is. 

The person suddenly hugged me from behind and started sobbing alarming me.

"N..natsu , s..stop crying.. Why are you crying? Let go of me!" As alarmed and worried I am , I felt the heat rising up to my cheeks and my ears feels hot.

Why am I even blushing?!

He sniffled and let go , I faced him and looked at him with a brow raised up.

"I ... Thought.. I was fu..Freakin worried about you! Where the hell have you gone to?! Your brother called and said you went missing?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED I WAS?! " His voiced raged and he was panting as he finished.

I was more stunned to the fact he was worried that much than him yelling at me. I was speachless. Clueless. I don't know even what to say.

But my anger and frustration overwhelmed me. And I pushed him away, and hugged myself , because if I didn't I might have slapped him.  He looked hurt and suprised but as fast it showed is as fast it has disappeared and his impassive face came back.

"I'm.. Sorry i didn't mean to yell at you.. " he muttered and looked away.

"Its fine.. But from now on.. I dont want to see you ever again. Leave me be. I think its.. Better that way .. " I forced my voice out and trying to sound cold but hurt and sadness obviously made it way out..

It's the best Lucy.. You need natsu out of your life.. He's just.. Confusing you.. What more can he do.. He is a Playboy ..

I started to walk away holding back the tears that threatens to leave my eyes, when suddenly he spun me around and ..

I felt his lips on mine..

It crashed as it landed on my lips , smothering all those walls ..

All those worries...

He.. Kissed me ..

A kiss of want..

Need..

A ..k..kiss of longing..

I felt it all..

And the stupidest thing my heart made me do.. Is to kiss back

He held my face and back pulling me closer, he kissed me long enough and let go..

We were both breathless and speachless ..

"God , Lucy.. I can't do that.. I'd die.. I'll break... Dont leave me again Lucy.. I just..can't..take it.. " he just held me there our foreheads touching and his eyes locking to mine.

Again.. Did he meant..about earlier?

But I set it aside and closed my eyes.. This is too.. Real to be true..

"Why.. Did you kiss me.. I don't want to be..one of your toys.. I don't want to be part of your collection natsu... I.. I ca–" and he kissed me again quickly.

"You're noisy.." He just grinned as he looked at my shocked reaction.

He smiled and hugged me , then he looked at me intensely as he searched for my eyes , his green orbs melting my brown ones..

"I will never do that. I never kissed anyone on the lips Lucy. And..I..I..love you.. To just turn you to those... I promise.. I won't hurt you.. " he whispered it. It's like he's afraid that the world will know , scared that I might break if he loudens his voice.

Im so thankful the moonlight doesn't show my face , or else he would have seen how red I am.

He held and intertwined our hands , then he dragged me inside the mansion. And his toothy grin never left his face , and it's so infectious, I returned the same grin.
