I knew that Damon and I were about to have a fight. It was obvious.

I walked into his room and closed the door.

Damon was laying on his bed throwing a ball in the air and then catching on its way down.

"Damon." I said crossing my arms.

"Elena." Damon said back mocking me.

"We need to talk."

"No we don't."

"Yes we do!" I yelled back a little louder than I expected.

He got off of the bed in a blur of vampire speed and stood in front of me.

"Why Elena? Why do we need to talk? There is no point. The witches will take that thing back." He said with anger.

"This thing?!" I yelled, now fully pissed off.

"This thing is our child!" I again yelled, tears coming to my eyes.

"Why am I crying!? I am so sick if crying!" I said, more to myself than Damon.

"Elena. That thing isn't supposed to be here. It is against nature. It is a test from the witches. If we keep it, the witches will punish us in ways that we don't even know." Damon said with a small amount of care that he tried to hide.

"Stop calling our child a thing!" I screamed running my hands through my hair.

"Stop pretending it is okay for us to have a child!" He screamed back picking up a vase and smashing it against the wall.

The shards of glass scattered onto the floor and we were silent.

I waited for what felt like forever before replying.

"I guess I will just have to raise our child by myself." I said with venom laced in my words.

I began to walk away before Damon stopped me.

"Elena. I am sorry but you know it isn't meant to be. Fate didn't have this for us. We are both supposed to be dead right now. Having a baby isn't something that was meant for us."

"Stop relying on fate! Haven't we proved that fate is a load of crap!?"

"Elena! You are lying to yourself! I don't know how you somehow convinced yourself that this is okay, but it isn't! This is not you!" Damon yelled.

"Yes Damon. This is me. This is the new me. It's about time that I accept the person that I am now and figure out a way to start living the rest of my life." I said before walking out of his room.

As I walked away, I could here things smashing. Damon was smashing things out of anger. I felt bad about yelling at him, but we couldn't just fix this, even if somewhere in the back of my head was now screaming in realization and fear of bringing this child into the world.

I made my way into the living room. I was expecting Caroline and Bonnie but instead someone else sat in front of me.

"Well, well, well, now this is something I did not expect. 10 points for creativity." Katherine mocked.

Katherine and I were doppelgangers, which means that I was nature's way of creating a balance. Since Katherine was a vampire, nature made me, her exact copy. I was human, so I could die, and it would create balance. I turned into a vampire, however, so now, somewhere in the next 100 years, nature will make an exact copy of me to balance everything out.

When I say Katherine and I look alike, I mean exactly. Both 5'6, both 122 pounds, both brown eyes, and hair. The only difference between us is that Katherine's hair is naturally curly and mine is naturally straight.
