Me, Sabrina, and Kas ride our bikes to the city to go to the movie theater. On the part of the road by the river, I see Angie and her friends having a picnic on the other side. "Are you okay Teresa?" Kas asks me. "You look upset." I glance at her. "Something happened to Angie that hasn't happened in a long time. That's all I can tell you." I say. Sabrina and Kas look at each other. "Teresa, we're your best friends. You can tell us anything." Sabrina says. "Trust me." I say. "You're better off not knowing. The less people who know, the better." I start pedaling harder. Pretty soon Sabrina and Kas are way behind me. Whatever happens, I'm not going to tell them. Angie made me promise not to tell. Anyway, they probably wouldn't believe me. Angie was only ten when the incident happened, and Dr. Sampson managed to figure things out and help her. He said it wouldn't be gone for good, but what he did might make it easier to control. Butt whatever stuff he gave her is obviously wearing off. She's not even 14 yet and she has to keep all of this a secret. Sometimes I wish it was ME who had been on that cruise ship instead of her. There's only one thing I can't forgive myself for. Not finding the person who almost killed my little sister.
