Chapter 5

*Austin's POV*

I walked over to the table beside her and put the flowers down. I set the bear beside her and pulled a chair next to the bed I could sit in. I sat down beside her and grabbed her hand. I rubbed my thumb across the top as I felt a tear trickle down my face. I couldn't help but cry. She was part of the reason I am where I am today and to see her like this broke my heart.

"P-please wake up. I-i love you Cassandra," I whimpered. I sat there looking down, my hands covering my face, trying to hide the fact that I was crying. I didn't want to be seen crying, even if she wasn't awake so I headed for the bathroom.

"What- what's going on?" I heard very faintly. My hand pulled back from the door handle immediately and I turned around. I saw Cassandra's beautiful eyes. She looked lost, but that didn't matter. I pushed the button on the side of her bed and a nurse came running in.

"She's awake!" I said grinning from ear to ear.

"Perfect. I will let the doctors know!" the nurse said smiling as she walked out of the room.

"Why am I here?" Cassandra asked. "And why is there a boot on my foot?"

"You broke your foot in the car accident. Do you remember that?"

"Kind of. What day is it?! I have to get to the Austin Mahone concert!" She said trying to get out of bed.

"No Cassandra, that was yesterday." I said chuckling.

"You can call me Cass if you'd like."

"Okay Cass, do you know who I am?"

"You look like Austin Mahone. And you talk like him too but-"

"Surprise."

"Oh my gosh. Why are you here? Shouldn't you be on your tour?" I could tell she was getting nervous because her heart rate was going up.

"Relax Cass, the last show was yesterday. And I'm here because one of my fans in in critical condition. My fans mean more than anything to me." I said looking into her eyes.

We sat there and talked for a long time. She loved the bear and the flowers. What she didn't know about was all the Claire's stuff I still had. I was planning on surprising her with that next time I came, because there would be a next time.

"Listen cass, I've got to get going, here's my number, why don't you text me and I'll come back again?" I asked.

"Ok! Works for me! Thanks for coming in the first place! It means a lot, I love you."

"I-I love you too." I said smiling as I walked out of the hospital.

"Austin where have you been you are almost an hour late!" Mom yelled at me when I walked in the door.

"Mom chill. I was with Cassandra the whole time."

"What took you so long?" Mom said getting worried.

"Mom she woke up. And so we talked. Turns out we have a lot in common and im going back. I care about all my fans, and she is beautiful. Something that can't sit in the hospital alone." I said smiling.
