School's been pretty shit lately. Stressful as usual, but thrice as boring as usual.
There hasn't been much to do other than to ponder why I exist and listen to Jessica ramble on about whatever's the latest trend to the group of friends we share.
Since yesterday I've been trying to get ahold of Morty. Three chapters in already, I should've told him by now.
Rick's been no help either. At least now I can tag along in any little 'mission' Rick and Morty may partake in. I would've gotten it done and over with the other day if it weren't for Morty showing up six hours after Mom, Dad, and I visited.
I spot Morty at his locker as I pass by in the hallway. Alright, this is it. Ok, now that I think about it, why do I care so much? ..... No, no this is happening.
"Hey," I tap him gently on the shoulder, only to have him jump in surprise. "I--oh, h-hey Gwen. What's up?"
"Give it up. For my sake, Morty." I jump right into it. The quicker we settle this, the better.
"Wha..? What are you talking about?"
"Jessica. There's no hope in hell that she'd ever return those feelings you have towards her. You're more likely to win the lottery than to have that bimbo like you."
"D-don't talk about Jessica like that. And I-I-I thought she was your friend,"
I scoff, chuckling, "She's just a paperweight to me, Morty. I throw insults at her face and she just blindly giggles at it."
"Gwen, I--"
"Please take it from me," I rest a hand on his shoulder. "You'd be way better off and less stressed out if you moved on. You could choose almost anyone here and they'd most likely feel the same way about you... like 40/60 at best but at least those are better chances than Jessica ever liking you."
".... oh." Morty sighed sadly. "Gwen, why are you telling me this? We just met, wh-wh-why do you care about me?"
"I.... I don't know. I just do, Morty, and you should be pretty thankful for havin' a friend like me." I smiled, opening my arms. Morty hugged me tightly, "I am, Gwen. Th-thank you."
I patted his back soothingly before stepping out of it. We talked more about his other 'open options' and how he can try to move on before parting to lunch.
Jessica called me over to our usual table. Morty took that as his cue to dip out of sight, saying one last goodbye to me before hiding his face behind his hand.
"What's up, dipshit?" I slid in between friends across from Jess. "Gwendolyn, have you meet Tammy yet?" I shot her a confused look before asking, "Who?"
"Hii. It's nice to meet you, Gwe--!" She squealed, only just realizing that she'd been sitting straight across from me.
"Hi, loud person. Nice to meet you too, I guess....""Is it true that you're neighbours with Summer Smith?"
"Uhh.... That's an odd icebreaker but yeah, I am. Wh-why do you ask?"
"No reason, just wondering. Y'know 'cause Summer and I are friends now."
Raising an eyebrow at her nonchalantly I ignore whatever little talk that was and continued to tune out, thoughtfully questioning my existence.

Connor and I sat together on the school bus ride home, talking about how our day went and other shit, I wasn't really paying much attention to what he had to say.
