School's been a pretty sharp pain in the ass for some time now.
I've been forced to have to stay after school nowadays and it sucks.
Not for detention... although you wouldn't hear me complaining if that were the case. No, I'm stuck forcibly trying to relate to Summer's group of friends.
In this sad excuse of a group, there's Summer's boyfriend Ethan; a couple of guys I didn't care enough to ask for their names, this girl named Nancy who reminded me of Gretchen from Recess, some other girl named Trisha sporting around obviously pushed-up tits, and Tammy. Just Tammy.
I'm not sure what it is exactly but this slippery bitch gives me all the wrong vibes.
Summer and I were in the hall in front of our lockers, milliseconds before the bell was going to ring. Today was going to be different. Today was the day I was going to make my escape.
When the bell rang, every classroom door swung open almost in a choreographed unison, flooding the halls with students ranging in size. This is it.
While Summer had her head deep in her locker, assuming she was talking to me about some nonsense, I bounced off of my heels and dashed towards the stairwell entrance. Pushing and shoving kids from left and right, I managed to reach the bottom step until I heard a familiar yelp.
I ran right into Morty. He is so goddamn weak that he had tumbled over before I even touched him.
"Gwen. He-hey, what's up?" He attempted to strike up a conversation with me in his usual stutter, second-guessing that I somehow had the time to respond.
"Mortimer, I'd love to stick around and chat but I gotta take a rain check on caring about you right now, okay bud?"
I didn't stick around to hear him reply, because of the familiar splot of pink in the corner of my eye coming down the stairs. "Shiiiiiiiit!" I mutter under my breath as I grip onto the black rose-embroidered baseball cap on my noggin, racing with everyone else to reach the ginormous school bus sitting outside.
Hopping on board and leaping into a window seat at the back of the bus, the bus quickly filled up, pulling out of its parking space once everyone found their seats, making way for the next scheduled school bus.
I pushed down my window, sticking my head out to see Summer in a disappointed shock. I couldn't give less of a fuck at this point, happily waving my cap at her with the world's largest smile on my face.
I could literally see my bed waiting for me to come home. God, I can't wait to take this nap. I sure as hell deserve it. I can go on and tell you just how much shit I got accomplished this week but I know you just wanna read my next Mickey dream. I feel you, I'm excited too.
The bus dropped me off at the usual spot, at the corner of my street. When I got home, I was immediately greeted by the sound of our vacuum cleaner. "Sweet pea!"
I mentally rolled my eyes and internally groaned. Don't call me that.
"Hey Dad. What's new?" I cracked half a smile at him. He was in the living room, vacuuming the floors before going over to fluff the couch cushions.
"I came home early and thought I might surprise your mother with a squeaky clean home." I nodded at him before kicking off my white flats and heading upstairs. "Hold on there, missy."
