Author: calmingfire

First impressions: 8
The title is interesting and sure to bring in readers when coupled with the nicely done cover, however I read the text first then looked at the cover (as most readers usually do) which gave me the feeling of nature or naturalist book, not exactly action-thriller

Description: 9
The description was well written with no grammatical errors, it gives the reader a good grasp on what is happening and what to expect from the story. However, it seems kind of long and may deter the readers who like a quick and snappy summary of everything. Indentions also seem frequent, it is proper to indent at the beginning of a paragraph but if it's after every line skip then it is a little over used

The story itself: 8
The story was refreshing, in a sense that the protagonist was unlike most others. Where most authors make their protagonist male with light skin this author made their protagonist female with dark skin. The writing is nicely done, however, there was more than a few places where there was a wrong word or a word that shouldn't be there in the first place, which disturbed the flow of the book, and very rarely there was a typo or misspelling, aside from that it's written well. I also noticed that indentions were frequent like in the description, as I said, they are proper at the beginning of a new paragraph, but do not over use them. It's nice that the first section of the book is a notification, allowing the reader to understand why some things may be confusing but it seems a little distracting from the story

Overall total: 8
It's a good story with plenty of potential, if the author fixes their mistakes I would give it a higher rating. A tip would be to proof read everything carefully, to ensure that not many errors slip through if any at all. Swearing, violence, and blood are present in the book, if you're okay with this then I would suggest this book for you
