Grace's eyes scanned the sea of people that were currently occupying the school halls, ignoring the on edge signals that her brain were sending her. As she walked down the hall in search of her group of friends she politely greeted those that she walked by. Everybody in the school knew Grace, she was the sweeter and friendlier of the Harris siblings. She was the literal embodiment of a good girl.
Her eyes landed on the familiar faces of her group. First there was Emily, Grace's older sister by twelve minutes, she had a hard time getting along with people and often used negativity as a defense mechanism so those who weren't close to her often perceived her to be a bitch. Then there is Lianna who's dark clothing and makeup don't match her bright and preppy attitude, people are usually afraid of her at first because she comes off as intimidating with her dark ensemble but those thoughts quickly vanish when she gives one of her bright smiles and begins to talk animatedly. Last is Nick, he's the pretty boy of the group kind of like the token "player", people often assume that because he's such a pretty boy that he's probably not all that intelligent but boy are they proven wrong when he begins spitting out facts like a damn walking encyclopedia.
"Grace, the lady at the front desk in the main office wants you. Something about welcoming committee shit." Emily said before taking a large bite from a banana she had pulled from her bag. "You couldn't text me? Now I have to walk all the way back to the front of the school." Grace deadpanned and Emily just shrugged, "Oops?" was her muffled reply.
Grace scrunched up her nose in disgust before quickly greeting and saying goodbye to Lianna and Nick. Her feet carried her quickly to the main office, as she pushed the doors open she noticed a girl with purple hair speaking to a woman with short hair who only looked a couple years older.
"Ms. Ellie, Emily said the main office needed me for something?" She asked softly and the elderly woman behind a desk looked up and smiled at the young girl before her. "Ah, yes Grace. I figured you'd like to welcome our new student and maybe show her around." Ms. Ellie said as she stood up and stapled a couple of papers together and handed them over to Grace.
The girl with purple hair soon appeared at Grace's side, a small scowl on her face as the woman she was speaking with only moments ago left. "Yes, here she is. Grace Harris meet Nicolette Jackson. Nicolette Jackson meet Grace Harris." The woman gestured between the two and as their eyes met, Grace's entire body locked up as one thought raced through her mind.
