Chapter 5 - Mask

 Edited my Lostindreamz :)

"You look good in your uniform, Miss Robin," Apple complimented me as I poured milk into my glass during breakfast. Apple was in his usual attire, neat, shining shoes and formal clothes. Today he wore a sky blue tie, though.

I was woken up by him ringing the bell continuously this morning. As much as it annoyed me, I should be thankful to him for waking me up early.

"I've prepared your bag," he eyed the couch. There, a red leather back pack had been placed. I walked down the three stairs connecting the kitchen and the living room and touched the bag. I could see a logo of a very expensive brand on it.

"Do you really need to go to this extent?" I asked him. They were not going to charge me for all these, were they? Who knew, this could all be a scam.

"No worries, it's all on us. They have given me a big amount of money to 'dress you up' as Robin Apple. We should make it believable, right?" He smiled at my reaction. His collected personality annoyed me sometimes. "Don't you think something is missing?" he asked me suddenly.

I looked around me but he was pointing at my face. "My face?"

"No make-up?"

I groaned. I never really used any make-up since I didn’t see the need of it. Not because I felt like I was very pretty or anything but because I felt like there was no one to impress. Moreover, there were more important things to think about than my appearance.

Not that I never wanted to look pretty, don't get that wrong.

After the moment of silence, Apple seemed to get what was in my mind. "You don't know how to use make-up."

I shook my head shyly.

"Figured," he smiled playfully. He went to my room and brought out a red make-up box.

"Are you going to do my make-up?" I asked him in disbelief as he took out some make up supplies.

 "Close your eyes."

Just like he’d said on our first day, he really did become my assistant. He prepared everything for me. Breakfast, uniform, shoes, bag, make-up, everything. In movies, he would be like a butler, except I didn’t actually hire him.

I felt like I was a royalty, like a princess, but in reality I knew I was nothing near that.

After 15 minutes, he told me I was ready. He had put light make-up on me, as if he knew I wouldn't like heavy make-up. It fitted me well, I saw a new me.

"Thanks," I smiled, looking at him through the mirror. He smiled back, seeming satisfied with his work.

"Time to go." He jumped off his seat as he looked at his watch. I followed him out of the door, sliding my bag on my shoulders.

Welcome to the game, Robin.

The One is a male. I read the paper in front of me. The first clue from Apple was in my bag. It was already lunch now. I took a seat in one of the benches in the huge flower garden I found on the way to the main gate.

As I had expected, the school was huge. If wasn’t for the help from a very kind girl I’d met at the gate, I doubt I would even have reached the school's office. She was a very refined girl, her light brown hair shone below the morning sun. Her kind eyes looked at me as she asked if she could help; that was my first time of being treated so nicely.
