 Chapter 6 - Coffee Craze

Edited by lostindreamz, once again, thank you! You've helped me so much!

"Morning, Robin," a brown haired girl greeted me as soon as I stepped on the first stair leading to the school's main door. Her rich brown eyes shone under the sun, her lips fully curved and her uniform was as neat as it could be; she was the definition of beautiful and refined.

"Morning, Kate," I greeted her back with my sincerest smile, hoping mine would be on the same level as her sunshine-like smile. We both climbed up the plane of stairs, talking about the classes that we were going to attend together today. We both even agreed to have lunch together, again.

This was my 4th day as a student of Abbey Mount and it was a Friday. This girl with me was Kate, the one who had helped me on the first day of school. I met her when I was in the west building, asking around for directions to the school's office. When she heard my problem, she gladly took me there even though she had to go all the way back to the east building.

We went our separate ways because our lockers were located far from one another. Waving goodbye, I went towards my locker, the hard sole of my shoes producing faint clicking sounds on the pure white tiled floor as I walked along. I was busy arranging my books in the navy blue locker, when I felt a tap on my shoulder. "Hey," a male voice greeted.

I turned to find Luke standing gracefully in his uniform. His hand held a piece of bread. "Good morning, Robin," he smiled.

Luke had been a good friend since day one, just like Kate. He always greeted me first no matter where we were, which drew his friends’ attention towards me, not that it was bad, instead it was the opposite. This way I could get information rather easily. They asked me whether I was new - apparently news didn't spread like fire here. I didn't think that there were any rumours about me, not that there was anything to be talked about me, anyway.

Luke and I chit chatted on our way to art class, our first class of the day. This was my very first art class as a student here so Luke helped a lot by explaining what we would be doing and how he did in any other classes we were together in.

This grey eyed boy was the eldest child among the five siblings in his family, where all others were girls. Because of this, he became the sole heir to his family company which specialised in snacks and beverages; I found some of my favourite snacks were manufactured by his company. He was a very cheerful and friendly person, someone who makes you feel comfortable to be around.

In addition to his already great personality, he had quite an active brain inside his head which made him one of the most honoured students in the entire school. On my first day, he had told me I might be a genius, which made me think: Well, you should just look into a mirror and there you go, you'll see a real genius.

Kate was no less perfect than Luke. She was the daughter of a famous businessman whose name I've heard a lot on TV, George Haynes. She wasn't exposed much to the media due to her father's protectiveness over her, though. For art class, she took Performing Arts and that was why Luke and I weren’t in the same class as Kate, the art class we took was Visual Art.

Kate did ballet; somehow it fitted her very well. I once watched her practicing after school, and she was beautiful. The way she danced on the tips of her toes and moved her legs up, twirling around, was amazing. Even the movement of her fingertips caught my eyes.

That was the kind of girl I always dreamt to be. Lady-like and elegant. Like a princess soon to be a queen.

But I was just the same old Robin, nothing close to her, and I’d never get any closer.
