"Haha! Look! It's the blondie!"

"Cheh- faggot."

"Fat ass!"

"Everyone knows you've gotten in almost every guys' pants, slut!"

"Kill yourself! You're a worthless bitch, no wonder your parents kicked you out!"

Lucy remembered it all so vividly. This wasn't rare, but it was worse than all the other times it had happened. People were crowding around her, shouting threats and insults to her as she walked down the hall. They threw chewed up gum at her, trash, and crumbled up papers.

Lucy had made her lip bleed from biting it so hard to hold down the tears and sobs that were dying to be let out.

She was now sitting at her desk in the far back corner, her eyes shadowed by her blond hair. Natsu, who was on the opposite side of the classroom, was eyeing her worriedly. "Lucy.." He whispered, more to himself than to anyone in particular.

Natsu had scared all the students who were thrashing Lucy with their cruel words away, but before he could talk to Lucy and ask if she was okay, she sprinted away.

She left Natsu in a fit of worry.

---

The bell had rung, signaling it was the end of the day, and Lucy wasn't looking forward to any of it. She hopped in her car and squeezed the wheel, her fingernails digging into the leather.

Slamming her head against it, she allowed all her tears to be released, and she cried out to nothing. Too into her little fit of despair, she hadn't even realized the loud pitter-patter of raindrops hit her windows.

Not until their was a knock at her window. She already knew who it was. Unlocking the doors, a person plopped down into the passengers seat beside her and sighed.

"Hiya, Lu--" He paused mid-sentence as he saw the crying blond beside him. "cy.." The pinkette ran his fingers through his hair, unsure of what to do.

"What's wrong, Lucy?" Natsu murmured, setting a hand on her thigh. Lucy let out a quiet sob, and began to rub her eyes repeatedly.

"N-Nothing.. Lets just, get you home..." Starting the car, she slammed on the gas pedal and sped off in the pouring rain.

Natsu knew something was wrong, but he didn't want to push it.

"Bye, Lucy. Call me.." Lucy nodded silently, her eyes yet again shadowed. Hesitating, Natsu stepped out of the car and walked into his house.

Something Lucy didn't have.

A home.
