The Wolf Prince | Chapter Thirty

In the morning I awoke with a small smile on my face.

I wanted answers, and so before bed last night I had decided that today was the day I'd find the answers I needed.

As I was changing into my fighting leathers for the day, strapping my Katana to my back, Grayson burst into the doors of the Princes' chamber. "We're going home." He growled his eyes sharp with mine. I stand there glaring at him, my arms crossed like a stubborn little child.

"No." I managed to spit out through a clenched jaw.

"Put some clothes on, we are going." Grayson growled harshly, turning from me to walk to my suitcase. I watched as he began to pack the few belongings I brought with me.

"Get out asshole" I yelled, shoving him into the dresser, sending the continents of what was on it flying all over the room.

Grayson was still. His back muscles flexed, and tight. He pushed away from the dresser, his eyes locked on mine, betrayal dancing all around his features. "Fine, I'm staying here then." He bit out, turning around and slamming the door shut.

I let out a pent up breath, one I had been holding ever since I pushed Grayson. I wasn't thinking straight, I shouldn't have done what I just did but part of me just really didn't care.

I began to pick up the junk that fell off of the dresser. A few candle sticks, matches, a dagger and a piece of paper.

I slid the dagger into my boot, it looked like a really expensive weapon, something obviously only a Prince would bare. I picked up the crumpled paper; dust covered the exterior like it had been sitting there for a while, untouched by anyone but the person who had written it.

Inside the writing was simple and elegant; I could tell a south paw had written it by the smudge marks and fingerprints lining the page.

I bit my lip, trying to decipher the cursive letters, my mind when numb with confusion as I read:

I'm never coming back so don't come looking for me, It's my duty to keep the Shifters safe. The Wolf Bound have you.

Your son.

I analyzed the paper for what felt like hours hoping to find more clues, more information to where the Prince had gone. But one thing is for sure, he must have been a Shifter. There would be no other reason to go and protect them, especially if you were nothing but a mere Wolf Bound. The Would Bound detests us, call us monsters, and ban us.

So the Prince left because he was a Shifter.

He had voluntarily gone Rogue, and is most likely one of the most powerful Rogues to ever exist, especially if he's not only a Wolf Bound but also a Shifter with royal blood.

I shuddered, my mind lingering on the paper in my hands. The threat that the Prince now imposes on The Crown and just the Wolf Bound in general is extremely high. With the most powerful wolf on the Rogues side, with the most powerful wolf not ruling The Crown and these claimed lands. . .

It's the perfect opportunity to overthrow a kingdom.

I knew who I needed and exactly what I needed him to do. I slid the paper into my pocket, then quickly finished picking up the Prince's belongings and went out the door.
