We came crashing into the auditorium, slipping and tripping over each other. So out of breathe and still choking up on our own laughter, having to lean on each other for support.
“I can’t believe we just did that,” I panted, feeling like I was dying from exhaustion.
Logan grinned up at me for a split second until he keeled over from his own fatigue, hands leaning on his knees; face to the ground.
Then suddenly we felt a presence hang over us, like a looming, expectant shadow. “Selina?” I heard Logan wheeze just barely, trying to straighten up.
Who’s Selina?
Curious, I sucked up my own enervation, and stumbled upright, half-collapsing onto Logan’s still heaving body.
A sharply-dressed kind of young woman stared down at me, her dark, designer Gucci glasses tilted in stunned fascination.
“Logan?” she quipped, her voice strict and business-like.
I immediately started disliking her.
“I-I don’t understand.”
Beside me, I felt Logan exhale deeply, resting a hand on his hip as he gave one last exhausted huff. “Sorry Selina, I completely forgot.”
“I can see that. But who is…” Her brow furrowed, as she lifted her perfectly red coated manicured nails to gesture at me with heavy distaste. “Who is she?”
Bitch. I irked in my mind straightaway.
But instead of cussing at her out-loud. I puffed up, standing full height (well as far as 5-foot-short goes). “Zephilia Phillips,” I enunciated crisply, “Nice to meet you.”
Hahaha, I lie biatch.
Logan smiled next to me, like he knew exactly what was going on through my brain, nodding like there was no care in the word.
I threw him a meaningful glance, before returning my gaze onto this ‘Selina’, making it as penetrating and judgemental as possible.
Taken aback completely; at the fact my appearance and tone of voice didn’t complement each other at all; she finally drew out a slightly unsure, “Nice to meet you too Z-Zephilia.”
I raised my brow delicately, extending a formal hand to her.
She took it, shaking it almost a little repulsively.
Stopping myself from frowning spitefully at this, I yanked my hand back, smiling angelically at the alarm in her face at our mutual repulsion.
Obviously she wasn’t going down so easily, as she straightened herself up, blinking down at me sardonically, “I’m Selina Montgomery. Logan’s manager.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“Actually my Mom’s my manager,” Logan cut in, his lips tilting downwards in a small frown. Evidently he wasn’t very much attached to Selina either.
“Of course sweetie,” Selina drawled, putting a ‘comforting’ hand on Logan’s shoulder. She treated him like some clueless little kid who couldn’t handle himself. “But you do realize you’re extremely late for this announcement.”
Logan’s jaw set in line as he scanned the room.
That’s when I realized everyone was watching us; the production crew, the actors, Damien, Rachel, all the other interns… Milly.
Blushing a furious red, I spun around to look at Logan; who was biting his lip, his gaze fixated somewhere into the darkness.
Selina cocked a brow at Logan and me, physically removing my hand from his arm, and prompting him on his way to the stage.
