His scent was wrapped around me like a scarf, his warmth a blanket to the cold reality that I should leave.

Should being the optimal word here.

"Casper... Casper, wake up," I whispered.

I shoved his shoulder hard, his eyes squeezing tight before flying open.

"What's wrong?" He asked, sitting up straight to look around his room.

His eyes landed on mine and he relaxed a bit.

"Sorry, I thought you were in trouble," He mumbled, a deep blush climbing up his cheeks.

I smiled a bit, taking his blushing cheeks in my hands. The heat in his cheeks traveled down my arms, chills going down my spine when he smiled down at me.

"Don't apologize for caring," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

I kissed his cheek as I pulled myself from the bed, his scent lingering behind me for a bit. I could feel his gaze on me, heat flooding my cheeks as I stepped into his bathroom.

"You got an extra tooth brush?" I asked.

"Bottom drawer."

I grabbed an extra tooth brush and brushed my teeth as Casper went to his sisters room to check on Jasper.

I hummed the song Forever and Always by Parachute as I walked to Brooke's room.

"Hey, B," I said, my voice sickly sweet.

"Don't give me that crap, your little brother kicks like a kangaroo," She said, sticking her tongue out at Jasper's blushing face.

Casper smacked Brooke in the back of the head, giving her a scolding look.

"I know, he leaves bruises on my sides sometimes," I laughed, kissing the top of Jasper's head.

I knew Jasper probably wanted to go home by now and I knew that I should get him there at some point today.

"Why don't you get ready to go home buddy. Go brush your hair and teeth," I mumbled, smiling as he got up and complied.

My little brother has never been the annoying type. Yes, he annoys me at times, but he is way more tolerable than some little siblings.

"You take such good care of him," Casper mumbled, kissing my temple.

He snaked his arm around my waist, pulling me into his side.

"I love him," I said.

I looked around, my mind slowly realizing that I left my phone downstairs last night.

"I've gotta go find my phone, tell Jasper to meet me down stairs," I said, walking toward the door.

"You want me to help?" Casper asked, stepping forward.

"Nah, I think I got it," I mumbled, smiling at him.

He rolled his eyes as I left, heading downstairs. I heard him say something to Jasper, smiling when I realized he was doing what I told him to.

I glanced around the kitchen, finding my phone sitting on the counter not far from the sink. I unlocked it, not surprised by the lack of notifications but surprised by the amount of unanswered text messages I saw once I  opened it.

I had two from my mom telling me to be home by noon today. There were a few from Archer, even a few from Christian.

"What the hell?" I mumbled, startled by my brother's stomping down the stairs.
