Chapter 11

A month later....

Things with Damen are going really good, he has opened up to me expressing to me that he really likes me and wants us to work, I told him that I agree, I don't want this to end. Today is my doctor's appointment for my baby and Damen and my mom is coming with me, and then we are going to lunch so Damen and my mom can talk, and get to know each other.

I have a little baby bump now and you can see it a little bit, but not a lot and if your far away or don't know that I'm pregnant it just looks like I'm bloated. My clothes still fit, but I know in a month I have to go wardrobe shopping for clothes to fit over my pregnant belly.  I can't wait  to meet my baby and see what he or she looks like, what will their personality be like, and what color hair are they going to have. I have a feeling that my baby is a girl, but Damen wants a boy.

I hopped in the shower and washed my body, I just got out the shower and wrapped a towel around my body when I heard a knock at the door. "Come on baby girl get dressed, so we won't be late for your appointment." My mom says technically screaming at me as I opened the door "okay, mom I'm going." I say walking in my closet to get some clothes.

"Is Damen still coming?" My mom asked sounding like she was scared to know the answer to the question.

"Yes he's coming, he told me that he was going to meet us there once I tell him I'm on my way to the hospital. He said that he will leave work." I tell my mom putting my uggs on.

"Okay Ava come on let's go." My mom says ordering me while she walks out the door.

We get to the hospital, we were walking to the door when I heard my name being called from a distance "Ava" I turn around and see Damen walking towards me and my mom. He catches up and kisses me, then held his hand out to my mom, so she could shake his hand " Hi I'm Damen." He said shaking my mom's hand " I'm Sabrina nice to meet you Mr. Damen." My mom said winking and smiling at me.

We walked in the hospital and went up to the maternity ward for my appointment, my mom and Damen went to find us some seats while I checked myself in. After checking myself in I walk over to my mom and took a seat next to Damen, from the looks of it my mom and Damen were getting a long well. "Ava I like him, he has a really good head on his shoulders, he knows what he wants, and I like that." My mom said to me smiling. " I like him too." I say then kiss him.

My mom was about to say something when she got cut off because the nurse called my name "Ava Watson." We all get up and follow the nurse into a empty room, "Dr. Evans should be here in a moment." The nurse says leaving the room, "Are you ready to see our baby?" Damen asked me smiling and holding my hand.

"Yes I can't wait I'm excited" I say with a grin.

Dr. Evans walks in smiling "Hi Ava, Damen and Sabrina how is it going?" She says walking over to the counter. "Okay Ava I'm going to ask some questions then we will start the ultrasound, okay."  Dr. Evans says sitting down while looking at me "Okay." I say taking a deep breath.

"Have you experienced any morning sickness?"

"Yes but not lately, I've just been really nauseous."

"Have you had any cravings?"

"Yes pickles with peanut butter, and I always seem to want sweets." I say "Yea she called me at 3 in the morning asking for some cookie dough ice cream with chocolate syrup." Damen said laughing, "Well daddy that is very normal, pregnant women have the weirdest cravings, that have people thinking that they are disgusting." Dr. Evans said smiling, "okay let's check on that precious baby shall we. Lay back and pull your shirt up." Dr. Evans say grabbing the ultrasound wand and ultrasound gel.

I pulled my shirt up while laying back, "this gel is going to be a little cold, just to warn you." Dr. Evans said, she squeezed the gel on my little baby bump, then rubbed the wand around my belly. "Everything looks fine, your baby is definitely healthy. Would you like to hear the heartbeat?" Dr. Evans asked "Yes" Damen and I both said in unison. She grabbed another wand and rubbed it around until the room went silent and you heard "thump, thump, thump, thump" fill the room.

"That's your baby's heartbeat and it's very healthy." Dr. Evans said while my eyes were stuck on the screen, I felt my eyes start to water. Damen grabbed my hand and kissed my forehead. "I'll print you some pictures and 10 copies okay." Dr. Evans said handing me a paper towel then walking out the door.

I wiped my stomach off and Damen took the paper towel away from me and threw it away, Dr. Evans came back in with the ultrasound pictures and told me to make an appointment for 4 weeks from now to check on the baby and we probably get the sex of the baby. I made my appointment and then off to lunch we went.

We get a table at Ponce's because I was craving Mexican food or should I say the baby was craving Mexican food. "Damen tell me about your family." My mom says siting across from Damen and I, "Well my dad retired and so did my mom. I have 2 younger brothers Austin and Nate. Austin is 24 and Nate is 18." Damen said looking at his menu, "oh ok so how old were you when you became a CEO?" My mom asked getting way to personal, "MOM" I yell at her.

"No Ava it's okay I was 21 going on 22. I went right in after I graduated college." Damen said.

My mom was trying to find more ways to interrogate him with her words, but I really wish she would just go back to the 'I like him, he got a good head on his shoulders.' After that last question she continued to question him and we just had regular conversations.

When we were done eating and Damen paid for all 3 meals even though I told him not to, but he couldn't help it. We got up to leave, we walked out to go our separate ways. "Well Damen it was nice to meet you and I like you but if you don't do right by my daughter, then be prepared for your worst nightmare." My mom says kissing his cheeks, "Mom" I said as she walked to the car, "I'm so sorry about my mom she was just a little more protective of me because I'm the youngest, and since my dad left when she was pregnant with me. She had to be mother and father to me and both my brother and my sister." I tell Damen explaining my mother's actions.

"Baby it's fine I see why she is protective of you, but you have my word when I say I won't hurt you, and I'll come over later with movies and any sweets you want I just have to go back to work to finish up a project that's big for my company." Damen says, then gives me a kiss, and I felt my stomach get butterflies which happens every time he kisses me.

" Okay see you later."
